If your getting a welfare check you probably didn't earn it. If your drawing unemploymeny you probably didn't earn it. If who got the bridge card you probably didn't earn it.
If you are the President - you probably didn't earn it.
If you are a useless community organizer - you probably earned it. If people call you a socialist - you probably earned it.

Does Obama even know that 75-80% of the population works for small business?
That statement just proves what a clueless idiot he is.

How stupid is Obastard and his liberal minions?

What the hell do they mean successful people "didn't earn it"?

The answer they used "roads, bridges, etc built by the government" - WHAT!?!

NOTHING was built by the government you stupid fucks, everything the government does is funded by TAXPAYERS, i.e.; successful people. People who work, not Obastard's welfare leeches.

Roads, bridges, etc. are owned by the people that's why they're public roads and public bridges.

The government collects taxes from WORKING people, then they have CONTRACTORS bid for the jobs from the PUBLIC SECTOR. Who in turn EMPLOY WORKERS from the public, who are themselves TAXPAYERS, to build roads, bridges, etc.

Of course that's why the lazy good-for-nothings wouldn't have a clue about the subject.

Does this Teabagger outrage mean that GE made it without gov't help?

How about Haliburton and no-bid contracts?

Does this mean Big Oil didn't need it's corporate welfare?

General Motors?

Obama is absolutely correct. Businesses are not created in a vacuum. They depend on all of us to survive and thrive. They depend on the roads, the railroads etc. that we jointly pay for. They depend on the discoveries and knowledge of those who made discoveries that they're building their business on. They depend on police and fire protection that we all pay for. They may have used a loan from the federal or state government to start their business.

In his speech Obama gave credit to those who have the dream to start their own business and the drive to bring that dream to fruition. His point was that the person who started their business didn't do it alone. They couldn't do it without the support they receive in a myriad of ways from the rest of us.

Flame away righties......

You're kidding right? Match Obama's past relations to certain individuals then take a deeper look into what he said. SOCIALISM is all you need to know about this guy. Funny, he will NEVER see this country adopt socialism, at least not without CW2.

He also said they didn't do it because they worked hard, or took a risk. Or were willing to work long hours to make it a reality.

In a sence he was giving credit to the Government for most of the success of their business. He is promoting Socialism, and the fact that these business's would not be successfull without Big government.

This is just another atempt to garner votes on his class warfare agenda, Basicaly saying they actualy owe it to the government for, providing them with roads and bridges etc.

Not trying to pick a fight but just giving a different point of view.

His words were,'YOU didn't do that...". So...if the business owners aren't responsible for building or growing the business, why do they need any sort of drive...or a dream for that matter?
The community organizer in chief hasn't got a clue and has far overdrawn his reality check.

It's not wrong to admit that, and there is a place for government role in the economy as a facilitator, but the spirit of the message was that the government playing a larger role in the economy is a good thing, yet the truth is that the government already plays to big a role in the economy.
Also why should the president of the United States go out and say that all business owners owe something to the government or someone else, when the truth is that they likely already pay more than their fair share of taxes. Only reason for this is to create class warfare.

To me, his message was more that small and all business, owe some of their success to those(government included) that went before them, setting up the path to achievement...whether government does or even should, play a large role is just part of that reality....

What was his point for bringing it up though, seems to me he would have a reason to bring this up in a campaign speach rather than just to simply point it out.

I believe they had been talking about the democratic bill in the senate, that was voted down, which gave tax incentives to small business's hiring increases....
