Workers in Barack Obama's new economic order fall into two categories -- those who are worthy of the president's energies, and those who aren't. You may be surprised to learn where you rank. Obama doesn't weigh the value of workers based on their paychecks, what they do or whether they slip their feet into wingtips or steel-toed boots in the morning. Unions and their effects on industry are a microcosim of where the whole country is heading. Understanding theres only a beneficial place at the top of the gravy pyramid for about 10% of “the collective”. The rest of the collective is around merely to subsidize those privledged few.

A bit of a history lesson here. Largely because of the union struggles in this country we have: A minimum wage. Health and safety regulations in the workplace. An eight hour day. Unemployment compensation. I could add more to this list.

I could add more to this list. Blah, Blah, Blah! Save the speech about how the unions saved the country and it's workforce. This country was already operating for sum 134 yrs. before unions ever came into existance. The downward spiral came after the corruption of the unions and it's leadership firgured out how to extort money off the backs of the working class. The very people the unions were said to be protecting they were screwing over at the same time, and so goes history.

I could add more to this list. Here's a few more Business leaving the country because the unions demand higher and higher wages for meanial jobs. I know union dues are deductible on your taxes but they spend those dues backing and lobbying politicians that you may not like. The minimum wage is not supposed to be a living wage, whatever that means, its an entry level wage for unskilled people. Yes there was a time when unions were for the worker, but now they are more or less another branch of government.

You can't even make that about the same comparison. First, one was legal and one wasn't. What Electrolux did was perfectly legal, sad but legal. You are like the rest of the union mentality that feel the company owes you something due to your years of service or just because you feel they do. We've all seen plenty of companies pick up and relocate regardless of what their agendas are. Whether we agree with it or not, it will not be stopped. No, it didn't destroy the middle class in Greenville. Believe it or not, the city of Greenville is still there. Yes, it upset alot of lives but you move on or you move out. You have choices as well. Obama is ruining the middle class of this country single handedly and your still worried about Greenville. Obama and his group of "storm troopers" will never stop business from relocating.

And they came into existence for a reason; working conditions were terrible, hours were insanely long (even for young children), injuries were common with no compensation to the injured worker, nobody was standing up for the workers. I'm not a huge fan of unions, but give credit where it's due; they did much to improve workers rights and working conditions and hours.

Back 80 years ago those things certainly helped the working class. It's no longer the case anymore. We already have agencies that protect the American worker for safety issues, hours worked and age restrictions. The unions continue using this as a crutch to justify their existence. Unions are just another "big business" using the working class for their own financial gains and driving up the cost of products. The more money you make, the more money the union needs to operate.
