I KNOW that you probably will not believe this but for what it is worth I want to tell you RIGHT HERE..not on myspace...
that the post I have right below this one..was in no way based off of what you said.
I was reading page 3 when I posted that.
I did not even get to page 4 at the time..I was irritated with all the B.S going on AGAIN!
I came back later..I read the whole thread and said *&$&!
she is going to think I was talking about her post.
It is a coincidence..I know it is one that is not believable....but it is the truth!
no magic erasers.:)
I believe you hon. If you have a problem with me, you post directly to me, and we work it out, solve it and MOVE ON. We don't dig it up a few weeks later and it starts all over again!

No worries. I figured that's exactly what happened, you posted and didn't even see mine, but your posting popped right up after mine. Funny how Topix does that huh?

<quoted text>Wow, you are a genius.Does your babys daddy know your on the internet? Go back to the kitchen where you belong.
Since you and Sharon B have the same ISP location (and the same b i t c h y attitude) does that make you one and the same? Hmmmmmm?
Genius? Thank You. Yes my baby's daddy knows, & if I go back to the kitchen - Can I be barefoot & pregnant too? Clever how you were able to get Sharon B & Hmmmmmmm in the same sentence. Must be you really can't stand them huh?

Why the change of user names today? "Sharon is a B & Bums rule" not working for you anymore?

All one has to do is Google your user name today "DILLIGAF" to see what it stands for - and since you're using that name here today - you obviously GAF - because you're still here. Question for you now - DILLIGAF?

zot.. before I even got to your posting I was thinking the same thing. Kudos to you!

All of this arguing started over who would or would not let a homeless person into their homes and about 1/2 way through the beginning of the thread it seemed everyone forgot what the storyline of this posting was.. the homeless man.

Very sad..

Some troublemakers got on here and started stirring things up. I decided I was not going to post here again till it looked like they were gone. They're probably watching the game now.

I've known some pretty nice people that were alcoholics. It's a real waste. Some good talent wasted by booze. One dried up and is doing quite well now, one graduated to drugs leading to his death, and another was found dead in his house surrounded by empty vodka bottles. It's sad.

I am usually the one that gets accused of starting cr_ap on here. I guess true colors have shown and we know who the real culprit is don’t we.

I am diffrent from you guys, I was blessed by knowing Lonnie.
He was no "bum" by far. He served his country, saw the world from many angles; and yes- he got into trouble with some company checks. He was non violent, quiet, funny, and was one of the hardest workers I have ever met. Yeah, he may of liked his alcohol, but if you were next to him on that street, he would have given you his coat, and not even had to have known you.
If he were reading this, he would laugh, shake his head, and get back to work. Some of you really showed your true colors by talking here and not knowing who or what you were talking about.
Please know that good people do bad things; but that doesnt make them bad people. Lonnie was almost off of parole, and would have been "debt free" to society. He deserved way better than what he had, and the cards that had been delt him in life.
May God be with him and his family.
I will never forget you Mr. Gordon, thank you.

It's pretty sad, isn't it? Now I believe that the thread about the terrible accident with the 14 yr old has been removed, no doubt because of some of the remarks. I could be wrong, but I can't find it.
My condolenses to this man's family

By my calculations, Mr. Gordon would have been of military age starting in 1978. Maybe he served in the military, but he certainly didn't fight for this country, unless he was in Grenada for the five minutes that lasted at the end of 1983.

Many homeless claim to be vets to get sympathy or have people think they have been something in their lives before all kinds of injustices forced them to a life on the street.

When even accomplished people like actor Brian Dennehy falsely claims to have served in Vietnam, it makes it hard for me to believe every street person who claims to be a veteran.

Are you sure that if he was reading this he wouldn't laugh, shake his head and get back to the bottle... in violation of his parole???

I never said that he was a vet, he was however stationed in germany for some time.

And you want to talk about parole? Jobs are hard to find right now- imagine trying to find someone that would hire you if you had a felony on your record (in todays MI). On top of that- you cannot get off of parole until you pay restitution, so you cannot move to another state where the economy is booming (yes he tried doing that).

If anyone has questions, please ask. This whole tragedy has broken me from the mentality that mr/mrs "whatever" (above) has.

PLEASE JUST HAVE A LITTLE MERCY ON A FELLOW HUMAN.

If he was in the military, he was a vet. The period of time in which he served has no bearing on that. He willingly put himself in position to go in harm's way at any time. A vet is a vet, someone who served his country. As I said earlier, it's sad that alcohol claims so many otherwise good people.

I know this thread is really old but being the anniversary of his death I googled Lonnie..Some comments are really mean on here..I understand it may be hard to let someone who has been drinking and is a stranger into your home especially if you have children but I don't think Lonnie was trying to get into anyone's home that morning! If I saw someone struggling in the freezing cold with no help I would immediatly call someone who could help get them out of that situation..no human being deserves to die freezing to death in a snowbank because somebody deems them useless that's so sad~
