Before making any such claims one should always look at the facts. Go to this site and click on View Crime Map. You can then view a live map of crimes in Kent County and where they were located. From the map it appears that living in a Land and Company Community is perhaps one of the safest places to live in the entire city.

Don't confuse them with facts. Apparantly these people can tell who the criminals are just by appearances...they should all be working for law enforcement solving crimes! Besides...we all know this has nothing to do with the apartment complexes L and Co owns and everything to do with finding a reason (no matter how false) to bash a potential political candidate. Ever notice how nobody says anything about this when it's NOT an election year? Oh.

Paul Land was not dead 20 years ago. He was not dead even 12 years ago. Before I married 12 years ago I worked for a charity organization that he helped found. He was still involved in the organization at that time and he was good friends of my immediate supervisor.

I am personally not a big fan of his, but lets get the info straight. I had not heard that he died but I don't really keep up with that, it has been 12 years since I worked there. But I do know he was not dead then.

L & Co. have done Michigan a great service. Just think, the next time we ponder building a new prison all we'll need to build are the guard towers and fences!

your link doesn't provide crime statistics for the community as a whole, only a story about 1 incident.
Exaggerate much?

Your comments are absolutely correct about Land's attempts to influence township officials and boards.
Attention class:
Dan Hibma was at one time the Byron Center township supervisor.
BC's current supervisor Audrey Nevins' ex husband and Dan Hibma were childhood friends/neighbors.
An employee of Land & Co. who was also a childhood friend/neighbor of Mr. Hibma has a nephew currently on the BC township board. Said Land employee's wife was until recently, also employed in the township offices.
Added value: Ms. Nevins new husband works for the road
commission.
I could find more dots to connect, but I'm guessing you already know...
I can add one more with certainty. In the 80's Robert Land (Paul's brother) served on the planning and zoning board for Tallmadge Township. It was at that time that P. Land acquired property in that township for the purpose of establishing a mobile home park adjacent to two existing mobile home parks. The zoning request went down due to pressure from homeowners. The whole thing went into litigation for about 15 years while P. sued the township. He won, and now there are three adjacent mobile parks with the population of the size of a small city. P and all his promises sold out long ago. The parks are deteriorating and P is nowhere in sight. But I am sure you can catch a glimpse of him frequenting his favorite financial institution. That is he is still mobile.

Daily Horoscope for June 3

Sagittarius

You're in the mood to spend today, especially on the spur of the moment. Be careful if you can't afford to make any impulse purchases, because a lack of cash won't stop you! If you do decide to splash out on something, you may be disappointed when you get it home and you might even decide to take it back.
