Having insurance, or pills or anything else isn't going to prevent you from dying when it's your time. My point is that nobody in the US can be denied treatment for emergent conditions; I would presume that someone with death iminent would be experiencing an emergent condition. Are you seriously ignorant enough to think that the government is going to pay for any and all care that someone wants? Seriously? You might want to refresh your memory on this case because it's about to get a lot more common: http://abcnews.go.com/Health/story... They offered her pills and 'treatment' all right, but not the kind I'd think you'd want or would want offered to your wife, or mom or daughter. BTW...before you crow too loudly about the Supreme Court decision, try to keep in mind that in earlier US history, the Supreme Court also declared slavery constitutional and agreed that Africans were 3/5 human. Oh. Yes Stevie now thinks now one will die, because everyone is forced to buy health care. I guess Us Republicans are just too stupid to see, that paying more in taxes and not being able to find a Doctor, saves lives..........WOW!!

You apparently prefer laughing at others rather than standing for something. Why on earth would i laugh at michiganders? Yeah its the Republicans, calling it the biggest tax increase ever! It in fact is, did you get a fresh supply of koolaid, along with your welfare check this month? So the 30 million people without ins. or the means to pay for it, will now get it, through the government, and will be taxed, which they will not pay because they don't have the money. guess what, they will still have ins., and we will pay for it. You are very good at deflecting, the Democrat mind set on the Republicans back. I don't think anyone falls for your glib uninformed attitude, but then again, their are the Gingers, bubbly's and blues of this world.....oh and don't forget holier than thou Steevie. lets talk in say ....3 more years....K?

You tell me what it cost to insure 30 million people, or to have your employer drop your coverage, just so you can now buy your own.....oops thats right you don't work..... It will be far more than 30 million. Hundreds of small business employers won't take too long to figure out that it will cost them less to pay the penalty/tax/fine than it will to pay for coverage for their employees and sumarily cut them lose to go find coverage of their on on the exchanges. There will be no increase in pay to compensate because the employer still has to pay the fine. Of those employees sent out to fend for themselves, many will likewise decide that it's cheaper to pay the penalty/tax/fine (whatever you want to call it) than to pay the premiums on a policy but when they need care, they'll show up in the ER and can't be turned away. Guess who the cost then falls on? Yup...all of us. Forcing someone to buy a product that they can't afford now doesn't make it more affordable, especially when many insurers have increased their rates 20% or more in the last year in anticpation of having to cover new procedures that weren't covered previously (primarly preventive care). ObamaTAX doesn't make any provision to control the cost of policies or of medical care itself.

Go Blue wrote: ...GENIUS.....LOLOLOLOL......S o, you agree, it's the biggest tax increase in history, but haven't a clue, as to what it costs? Well to start with the tax "penalty" is $95 for 2014; $325 for 2015; and $695 for 2016.... starting to see a trend upward, how high will it go, nobody knows yet. The "penalty" will be compared to income and you will pay the higher amount of 1% for 2014; 2% for 2015; 2.5% for 2016. Yep thats right since the majority of those who will be paying the penalty likely don't pay any federal tax to begin with I would say 2.5% of their income is a large increase in taxes. Currently you can deduct medical expenses that exceed 7.5% of your gross income, under "Obamacare" deductions must exceed 10% of income. The prior limit of contributing to Health FSA's was 5,000, it now goes down to $2,500 There will be an excise tax on medical devices equal to 2.3% If the government determines that your health insurance is too good you will pay a 40% excise tax starting in 2018. People with income over $200,000 will pay a .9% medicare surcharge on earned income and 3.8% medicare surcharge on unearned income. Tanning salons must pay a 10% excise tax. Currently there is a 28% subsidy for employers who sponsor prescription drug cost, now they are going to force employees to lose the deduction for this plan if they take the subsidy, essentially taking away the incentive to provide coverage. The government will now charge an annual fee to each company that manufacturers branded drugs. Just some of the many nasty things in this bill. And before you ask, no I can't provide you a link to this information because it is CCH tax research software which I cannot share to those who are not subscribed.

Do you know why during a late flight, a plane will sit on the tarmac for 9 hours instead of just taking off an hour late? It's because once a flight is more than about 45 minutes late it has to be be taken out of the flight schedule, you can't just 'slide' the rest of the schedule because crews and equipment can only be airborne for a certain amount of time after they've had a certain amount of sleep or down-time. It's basically a customer-service/production control issue. If you try to bump out every flight, you'll start a domino effect and shut-down the entire airline in no time flat... Point is, do you really think Romney can repeal the healthcare law? If you do, you're deluding yourself. There will be so much infrastructure in place by the end of the year, it will be impossible to just hit the 'killswitch' without a shitload of governors (including many Republicians) saying 'hey, I spent a lot of money on these exchanges. Likewise a bunch of Insurance companies saying 'hey, we spent a lot of money on these exchanges'. Not to mention, it's now settled law. So he'll be left with trying to untagle it piece-meal and repeal 'parts' of it like...expanded Medicade coverage (no wait, old people like that part), or coverage for pre-existing conditions (oh wait, most of us like that), or no dropping someone because they get sick (oh wait, we ALL like that). All the while Insurance companies saying hey we need an individual mandate to pay for all of this, we're counting on millions more people buying health insurance. Sorry children, but the Little Engine that Could; well, that's just a story. In reality the little engine that could got slammed off the rails and obliterated by an 800k ton CSX freight train. So goes any idea that this done bun can be un-done. Three years ago I pleaded with any Republican that would listen, "we've all got a dog in this fight, you guys need to jump into the healthcare reform discussion". But no, they chose the Rush Limbaugh approach, sat on thier hands screaming about 'death panels', played obstructionist and prayed for failure. But that didn't happen. Then they prayed for a remedy in the courts, and that didn't happen. Now you think it's Mitt to the rescue and it'll be repealed? It's time for you to wake up. I think in the long-run the healthcare law will help stablize costs, but mabey I'm wrong. If it proves to be a boondoggle I'll be very pissed at the Democratic legislators that I helped vote into office. You should be very pissed at your Republican legislators who did...nothing.

The republicans should have done more when they were in power with a common sense approach knowing the dems would do this and it would be a failure of a bill of epic proportions. I do think that you will be pissed at your dems when this thing proves to be a "boondoggle" Everyone knows the dems want a single payer system. The only way they could fool the American people is to put a bill together that slowly destroys the healthcare system over a number of years blame the republicans and then say there is no choice but to let the government take over and go to a single system.

Wow, I wish the democrats were half as competent as your 'sinister mater plan' makes them out to be. And take it from someone who's been paying healthcare premiums for a long time, our healthcare system has been dying the death of a thousand cuts for decades.
