Judged: 1 1 1 Hilarious? I'd rather be part of the hilarious group than the group responsible for 75,000 deaths per year (in the U.S.)and the third leading cause of mortality (that would be alcohol). They aren't hilarious, just dangerous and a real, live threat to our society. |

Judged: 1 1 1 So your herb is better than my drink? You have never had the "right" you wish to claim it. Your great, great grand parent maybe...Freedom doesn't exist so you may do as you wish. It exists....so you should do as you should... People that obsess that much over alcohol are said to have an illness... Stop obsessing, there are better things in life. |

Corporate greed, yellow journalism, and lies are what led to cannibus and hemp becoming illegal.
The following years/decades of misrepresentation and government interference have effectively left the general, unknowing public, with a false perception of cannibus and hemp. Hopefully, slowly, step by step, will those foolish and false perceptions be put to rest. As more and more unbiased studies outside of government regulations and oversight are done, we will again realize the full potential and benefits of cannibus and hemp in our society. Until then, be prepared to be confronted by ignorant people who use terms like "dope head" and "pot head" and other silly implications. Remember, it's due to their ignorance, not their knowledge. |
They are. There was a gallop poll released within the last few months that stated 50% of Americans now approve of marijuana legalization. That's the first time since they started the poll back in 1969 that it has reached 50% approval. Back in 1969 it was 85% disapproval. |

Judged: 2 2 2 Yup, let's legalize all of it and then tax the living daylights out of it. Then the 99% people will have one more thing to complain about, if they even realize they are being taxed on it. |

No, I honestly haven't Wiggley. But, knowing that you don't usually bring BS to the discussion, I will take your word for it. But honestly? My concern isn't with the hemp or even the cabanis. My concern is with the chemicals that are used in the growing. See, everyone whines about smokers and how terrible second hand smoke is and how deadly and dangerous it is, but those who want marijuana legalized all of a sudden don't care about those dangers? Seems rather hypocritical to me. And yes, despite Steve's disparaging and juvenile name calling, I have research the canabis plant and how it is grown and treated. And those chemicals are just as deadly as any in regular cigarettes. For every study you find saying "no big deal" you can find 2 that say it is a big deal. |

And your juvenile reaction to the comment about agreeing to the legalization of marijuana so it can be taxed isn't a surprise either. You are one of the group of Peter Pan syndrome people...you won't ever grow up, just taller. And you contribute nothing but BS to any discussion. |

Good Day,
And I could produce studies that assert the opposite is true, that it is actually more harmful than tobacco smoke. There are several studies, also, that show marajuana has higher levels of many toxins than tobacco. For example, a recent study found that marajuana has 20 times the ammonia as tobacco smoke. Where as chemicals like hydrogen cyanide and nitric oxide were 3-5 time higher than tobacco smoke (chemicals that have been linked to heart and lung damage). Other chemicals also found in marajuana, mind you at similar levels as tobacco include: chromium, nickel, arsenic and selenium. Another toxin linked to infertility was alo found in marajuana, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, but at slightly lower levels than tobacco smoke. Dr Richard Russell, a specialist at the Windsor Chest Clinic, said: "The health impact of cannabis is often over-looked amid the legal debate. "Evidence shows it is multiplied when it is cannabis compared to tobacco. "Tobacco from manufacturers has been enhanced and cleaned whereas cannabis is relatively unprocessed and therefore is a much dirtier product. "These findings do not surprise me. The toxins from cannabis smoke cause lung inflammation, lung damage and cancer." We can argue all we want about legalization and or de-criminalization, or taxation... But man, all these toxins are pretty scary... I think I would rather have a 7 times didtilled vodka and tonic please. From the BBC: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/7150274.stm Steelie |

Hi Steelie, Here's a newly releasd 20 year study regarding the effect mj has on the lungs. The results are contradictory to your findings. Quote: "Smoking a joint once a week or a bit more apparently doesn't harm the lungs, suggests a 20-year study that bolsters evidence that marijuana doesn't do the kind of damage tobacco does." Quote: "The study by researchers at the University of California, San Francisco, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham was released Tuesday by the Journal of the American Medical Association." It was posted on WTOP...they are a radio station in the DC area. Check it out...it's a safe link. http://www.wtop.com/... As the myths and walls of lies about mj slowly get broken down, we may yet achieve justice and common sense will prevail. |
