A clear majority of those surveyed believe all options to increase energy should be explored, including offshore oil drilling, adding nuclear plants, and relaxing some environmental standards. But 95% said they're in favor of "encouraging the development of wind and solar energy."

Of course that would be in our best interests, but people forget oil is used for a lot of other things than just FUEL.
Your computer has about a pint of it inside its various components.

Want to see prices come down or be more afordable? Ans: Decrease the cost of government. The government overhead that we all pay is what is killing us now. Time to cut government spending by 1/3rd in the next 4 years.

Take your money back, keep it instead of giving it to government to waste. Then we can jump start our own economy.

Don't blame me, I voted for Richard DeVos. When he lost the election, I opted to find employment in another state.

I feel sorry for all of you still stuck in Michigan, with the economy still spinning downward. You can't blame the President for the failures of companies, for companies opting to move to other countries where the price for production is cheaper. How about you blame the Unions for the high price of labor, because they always are fighting/striking to get higher wages.

Doesn't suprise me. I saw this coming at the last election and voted for Devos. Guy knows how to run a business.

Grandholm sure did blow all the money out of this state. What a Joke. Should have voted for someone born in this state. Serves all those who are now unemployed that voted for her. I blame it on you.

Devos was never going to be able to do anything different then what has been tried already. If he were to of been elected, and I am very thankful the majority of Michigan was smart enough not to elect him, we would be in the same boat because as much as people don't want to admit it, this has been coming for a very long time. This isn't about Granholm, these problems started long before her when we decided to rely entirely on the auto industry. It provided well for many of us for many years but that boat started taking on water years ago and whilst it hasn't sunk, it is well on its way. Truly I see allot of people blaming Granholm but I don't see to many stepping up and offering any real suggestions. Yep I know I will be slammed for sharing the facts by the anti-Granhom folks but since I don't intend to come back, I'm good with that! Have a great day, I know I will :)

I feel that the blame should be on all of our
elected and appointed officals. There seems to
be very little action on anyones part, republican
or democrate. I would like to know why? If
there are problems, you take action to solve them.
All I see is political fighting, and trying to
make the other party to be at fault.

How is this news? This is nothing new. She and her welfare programs have been running this state into the ground since was elected. She is a total waste of a human being and should be sent back to Canada with the rest of the Canadian trash. She should be deported out of this country as quickly as humanly possible. Hopefully the minute she is gone we can reverse all these horrible policies/burdens she has placed on the Citizens of this state...

I do feel that a lot of women voted for her, because she is a women, never mind they didn't consider much else to qualify her. Plus the usual democrats. If they all stay in the same boat long enough this will become a socialist state or just sink into a large hole. Less government will help in the long run. Where else does wages and benefits only go in one direction, up.

The leaders of our state do bear some responsibility for the state's failing economy. Over the years Michigan's business taxes have been rather high compared to other states. I've researched it and states that have had lower business taxes over the last several years also have among the nation's lowest rates of unemployment (eg. Virginia, Texas, Wyoming). We should tie the rate of pay of all of our elected officials in Michigan (both state and federal) to the state's unemployment rate (higher unemployment equals lower pay) and maybe that would help. The bad thing is that if you live in Michigan and want to move to a state with better economic prospects you cannot if you own a home here because you cannot unload your house.

Yea right, this story is a joke, the half that know it's Granmoles fault are the ones that didn't vote for that worthless democrat and the half that think it's the president fault are all democrats and welfare bums and UAW workers and teachers and blacks and hispanics and white trash looking for a hand out, but then I repeat myself. Democrats suck !
It's all the democrats and Granmoles fault and ALL the problems in this country were and are caused by the democrats, first billy boys reign and now the congress. The democrats are the most useless and corrupt party to ever exhist.

Granholm needs to take her deck point and high tail it back to Canada. The Michigan Senate has more senator's than California when you compare ratio to poulation almost 5 to one. What State needs that many idiots to screw everything up for us?? It's evident that Michigan needs that many idiots because they have been screwing us up one side and down the other ever sense she arrived in OFFICE. Voting for her again just INSURED NO CHANGE. Oh thats right our UNEMPLOYMENT has gone through the roof... And my Brother State Building Inspector gets UNPAID time off because we can't afford to pay him. What a great government we have. Almost as good as Walking Eagle OBAMA. That's what the Indians named him because he is so full of it he couldn't fly if he wanted to.

I'm sure my response won't be very popular with many Granholm haters out there. I am one of those who think politicians are all in a totally different world than the rest of us and really don't have a clue. But since I live in the real world with the rest of you, and most of us don't sit at the same card table as our fellow politicians do, think for just a moment what it must've been like for this governor coming into this state in possible the worse time in our economic history. Just set aside the fact that she is a democrat (doesn't matter to me they're politicians in the end). None of us are going to solve our situation overnight or in 4 years. Our state has been a manufacturing state for generations. I believe we've sold out our country via the likes of NAFTA in the name of cheap goods and traded it for jobs. We're seeing the effects of it right now. People I've known who were for NAFTA and who were strong advocates with high wage earning degrees and feel government doesn't owe anyone a job,(i.e physicians) are now seeing their salaries cut by insurance companies and x-rays being read overseas. It's happening to the most secure trades and professions. Now they are crying foul! Wait until it happens to you. Go get your glossy degree that "no one can touch", your mortgage to match, find the perfect private school for your kids in the perfect town, then have it all yanked out from under your feet. Someone over in Pakistan would be happy to do your job for enough money to put a meal on the table every night and tar paper their house so the floor won't get wet. The rest of the world wants to see us Americans satisfied with that too. Politicians and corporate america have sold us out, and our forefathers are rolling in their graves right now. It's not Granholm's fault, or Bush's fault, it's the whole "system".

Our self-seving Legislature is part of the Blame. They raised OUR taxes and took absolutely No Cuts to their $20,000 expense accounts,$80,000 salaries and the Life-time benefits after only 6 years of service? This is NOT ACCEPTABLE. They should have been the first ones to take CUTS. Leaders, lead by example. Not the Leeches we have in Lansing. The message they sent is. You pay, we go on as usual. These crooks have to GO ! Our chance is coming in August (Primary) and November. Vote all the current CROOKS OUT ! Let them see what it is like to struggle in the economy THEY created, at OUR EXPENSE !
