I think I would have to extract them and analyze them on mass spec. to find out what they spike those things with to cause that wicked of gas.

I don't need a mass spec analysis to know what they do to me. It's always good to eat a couple of large BK onion rings on the way up to Deer Camp! LOL.

I was somewhat concerned that my body was no longer processing things in the same manner. After last night however I am happy to say that things seem to be fine.

Cabo Sun wrote: Foul smelling gas is a result of not enough friendly bacteria in your gut and is lack of enzymes to break down the food particles. Get your self a good enteric coated probiotic and a complete enzyme, such as pancreatin, from yur local health food store, not garbage from a pharmacy, take one probiotic per day and two enzymes with all cooked meals, you will never have this gas again! Plus, you will not have the heartburn that so many americans experience as a result of eating processed, dead foods;-( Hope this helps! Why don't you stop promoting your business by disguising it as poor medical advice. Steatorrhea, or fatty/foul smelling stool is the result of poorly digested fats by the pancreas (which may indicate a medical emergency and should not be treated with vitamin shop garbage). Since there is no fat in plain onion soup, and it only occurs with that food, then it's just a result of too much water intake from the soup and the fiber from the onion irritating the lining of the gut. That is why vegetables are good for you, they help move things along your digestive track. If you are having the soup with melted cheese on top like most restaurants serve this soup, you may be lactose intolerant.

The comments in this thread are literally making me lol! Especially the one about crop dusting coworkers! But on a more serious note, the same thing happens to me when I eat ANYTHING with onions in it!! I am thinking about trying some beano and seeing how that works out!
