Superglue is a fix it for many situations. I do not recommend the use of it on your teeth. If you are in the Colorado area, contact Dr. Angela Osborn at Lone Tree Dentist. She does superior restoration work. Follow her blogs at www.lonetreedentistblog.com

Judged: 4 OK, I have read enough of this nonsense. Let me point out that there is a general problem here. Those of you who are willing to draw racial line were this problem is concerned should just put your chalk away. I am sick of hearing and reading that nonsense. I am an educated black man who is in the same position - having made decent life choices, I still have difficulty paying for my healthcare. I am underemployed, because I can't find the work for which I am qualified, and here I am still trying to improve my condition through honest means. Let's be honest with ourselves for a moment. Even here in America, there are far more ways to be poor than there are to be rich. Those of you who have reduced this conversation to an exercise in racism should get a grip. There are many responsible people like me in this country, of all races, who are trying to make ends meet and are having a rough time doing so. If we are going to have an intelligent debate about the availability and affordability of healthcare, let's do so without the name calling and the blame-throwing. You'll be surprised how much you learn about your own plight once you allow that to happen. My heart goes out to anyone who finds him/herself in a situation where Super Glue seems like the best option. Kudos to the person who brought up the point on compensation rates in the UK. That is the kind of intelligent commentary that advances the discourse, so keep it coming. |

It should really feel right, Colie. I have had quite a few crowns in the past (now have dentures) and they felt and acted like my own teeth after a small period of adjustment. |

Judged: 1 Pretty judgmental TB. My whole family has rotten teeth, despite good dental care. My daughter got my ex-husband's teeth--not a cavity in her mouth at 21, and I am so glad for her. |

There seem to be a lot of critical people on this thread. Kudos to all that are offering something positive.

A medical doctor friend said if they get more than 40% medicare or medicaid in their practice they will go out of business. The same goes for dentistry and chiropractic

Judged: 1 1 I'm with you Kacki!! "Brush and floss"...if ONLY it were that easy for some of us. Not everyone loses their teeth due to poor dental hygiene. I'm a prime example of someone who lost their teeth despite 3x daily brushing, flossing, water-picking, prescription toothpastes and mouth rinses. For the last TWENTY years. I got my teeth cleaned 3 times a year (I've been through full root plane/scale 5 times) and never let one dental issue 'go' for any amount of time. Periodontal disease runs in families...with 2 parents who suffered from it (and lost their teeth) I was pretty much doomed. Plus I have a genetic disease that can cause a whole host of dental problems including soft enamel, soft bone, and the ligaments holding my teeth in place broke down causing most of them to be loose. Maybe the "just brush and floss your teeth" crowd should educate themselves a bit before passing judgement on those of us who have lost our teeth. I didn't want this..I didn't *want* to lose my teeth. I did everything in my power to save them. I tried like hell. It's bad enough as it is; the last thing any of us need is people telling us how we FAILED to care for our teeth. I'm out $70,000.00...don't tell me *I* didn't try. |

It is sad how the government has taken over!!! My father a disable retiree from General Motors / Now Government Motors has lost their dental and vision insurance!!! The Insurance companies are making a fortune off of premium payments, yet everyone is suffering greatly...
My husbands place of employment offers insurance and for us and our son it costs us almost $300.00 per month... Our dental insurance isn't what it should be, and now I have a broken tooth!!! I have been looking online to find out how I can fix it being that I have the broken piece still, and if super glue will do the job, I am game... Or else it is gonna cost us greatly!!! Being in the network, non of the dentists will accept payment, and they want paid up front, before billing the insurance company... Any dentist our of the Network is almost $500.00 more per cost, and they want paid once the insurance has done there part!!! Either way, I cannot afford it, unless I can set it up on a payment plan which NO ONE will accept, because of prior slackers of payments... So CRAZY GLUE IT IS for me!!! |

I know that super glue and duct tape are easy fix solutions to a lot of problems but I wouldn't super glue my teeth. Hopefully it will work out but not something I am willing to try.

If you were to Find Dentist with a little more flexibility and options, such as payment plans so it wouldn't be necessary to treat yourself.

To all of you ignorant ones saying Oh.. brushy brushy and what not. Not everyone loses their teeth just because they don't brush enough. When i was young i had an accident and every tooth was cracked and this is why my teeth started to break and fall out. NOT because i didn't brush my teeth so STFU and stop being ignorant. God, what the hell is wrong with some of you? SERIOUSLY???

Hah! Most county clinics are overrun to the point where they won't take any more patients, or they will only take kids. And even if they do take them, or send patients to a local dentist, too many of them have the attitude of "fill it or pull it," without any in-between. And even "brushing like crazy" won't prevent all dental problems, especially if one is dealing with older dental work that's suddenly decided to go south for one reason or another. |

I'm going on 3 years of supergluing my crowns back in. I have spent thousands over the years and took fairly decent care of my teeth but now dentures are my only option and it is taking forever to save enough money just to get started with a dentist.
My teeth have gotten so bad that i usually have to deal with an abcess (infection) every couple months and it cost me my job because i have been out sick so much. The Abcesses are painful and tough to beat. I usually start with a strong dose of mouthwash and then the abcess has to be drained carefully (Do not swallow!) and treated with antibiotics if possible,Then another dose of mouthwash afterwards. I have been told that these can be deadly if the infection gets into your bloodstream, and its scary, but i really have no other options right now. If my girlfriend was not carrying the load we would be homeless, i do whatever i can to bring in some extra money, but i'm forced to depend on her and it kills me. I've tried everything, I bought dental insurance that basicly covered nothing. I made payment deals with dentists when i could.(Which they will no longer do for me, Even thought i paid in full before!) I Even looked into local charity programs but the overwhelming costs and deadends when looking for assistance have forced me to care for myself. I have to agree that being single without children means you will get very little help in this country,Your just not important to the system. I'm not lazy and i brushed my teeth but sometimes there is nothing that can be done. I'm only 40 but i'm going to need major dental work just to extract whats left of them and thats before we even consider the actual cost of the dentures. Superglue has saved me the embarassment of walking around without my front teeth. The great thing about it is that it starts to harden as soon as it comes into contact with spit, you get one shot to get the tooth in straight or else you have to clean the glue off and start over. Sometimes it can be a nightmare, but when you have no other options you do whatever you have to. |

Michele, I am glad you're handicapped.
I am just sorry for others that you are a burden to. Are you a native Indian? If not, you do not belong to live in the US.YOU butchered them !Now, you claim that you belong there!FUCK YOU! Haven't you sucked enough of blood from black people whom you enslaved for centuries? How dare you bloodsucker talk the way you do! This is not a place to express your feelings, it is a place for giving advice and help to others. So, if you nothing to share on the topic being discussed you don't belong here! Weep elsewhere! |
Good luck with that! |

....Thanks Will I am going to ck it out. My 15 yr old son broke his bonded front tooth and is very worried about being picked on at school. Kids are so cruel these days. |
