Full story: Orlando Sentinel

Dear Greg: I'm having trouble with two local companies. No. 1: In November 2008, we paid Sun State Tree Service $2,000 for tree removal.

$10,000??? Really? That is over 240 hours of tutoring in just one year? For 10K, and your promise to be a positive parental influence and work with your child every day that I am working together with your child, I would guarantee you results, and they WOULD happen. Companies are looking at the bottom line. Of course, I am looking at my checkbook, but I also REALLY know what I am doing. Get a REAL teacher to do it, not a company.

Are you talking about a REAL teacher like the ones that he has failed to learn from in the classroom?

240 hours for $10,000 - that is like $40+ per hour, is that really what they charge???

And you want to do it and and have the kid's parents work with him on the material? I would suspect the parents already tried that and found that they weren't familiar enough with the material to help, weren't good at teaching or that it caused to much conflict with their kid.

One-on-one tutoring is much different from classroom teaching. Too bad that in this state we do everything on the cheap so that teachers do not have the ability to give special individualized attention to kids that need it. And too bad that people like you can't seem to figure that out.

The most worthless business award would go to Amscott quick and easy nothing could be further from the truth, not to mention their 10% service charge to cash a personal check, not mine a friends, I have a bank account and it was on a Sunday if he could've waited until Monday would've saved him $50 the amount Amscum charged! If people only knew how much money they could make by simply not using Check Cashing places!!

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Cancer

Hold it! You need to approach things in a calm, controlled manner today otherwise you're likely to get yourself into a state in no time at all. That's especially likely if you're trying to meet a deadline because you'll start to panic and then become all fingers and thumbs. You might also get extremely ratty with anyone who gets in your way or asks stupid questions. Come on, is that fair?
