Authorities break up check-stealing ring

I feel like I'm reading a nostalgic item from 75 years ago. Checks? Who even uses checks anymore? That is so last century. Do you think they've ever heard of the Internet yet up there in the Dakotas?

Checks are still widely used for PAYROLL and paying business bills, idiot. Fyi, the Dakotas were using computer communications LONG before the internet. My first computer sale in 1981 was to a farmer from North Dakota who used his Apple-2 to get commodity quotes and analyze them.
