Glad he's off the streets, but now honest hard working tax paying people get to feed and house him for the next 40 years. Why not open the death penalty to anyone convicted of any crime that would otherwise be eligible for 30 or more years in prison? It would get rid these prison lifers who will never contribute positively to society again anyhow. It would help with the prison over crowding, and hopefully be a little more of a deterent for repeat offenders who clearly have no chance of being rehabilitated. Also - was "Sneaky" a legal U.S. citizen?

JTY wrote: <quoted text> I oppose the death penalty because of the near weakly articles of people being released after 20+ years in jail. That makes no sense what so ever. What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this forum is now dumber for having read to it. You think these people being released after 20+ years of prison are going out getting normal jobs and living normal lives? Maybe a few are, but the vast majority get out and don't know how to cope in society so they go right back to crime and drugs hoping to get caught so they can get thrown back in prison where they are used to functioning day to day. Prison does not rehabilitate hardly anyone. So I stand completely by my previous sentiment, if someone is a repeat serious offender of any kind of crime, and is looking at 30 or more years of prison, then the death penalty should be a real option.

Makes you nostaglic for the days when there was actually honor among thieves. This guy won't last a week in prison unless they keep him isolated from the general population. So I recommend they throw this slime ball into the yard in the first ten minutes he's there.

Also - where the heck are you reading near weekly articles of people being released after 20+ years in jail? I don't see these articles anywhere. Or are you in prison yourself, so these are propaganda articles in the Stillwater Prison Gazette?

Makes one wonder if the war on drugs is really worth it. Instead of taking care of our children and funding education, we as a society are more concerned that we incarcerate some poor guy smoking marijuana to alleviate his nausea due to illness. The drug dealers turn to these activities because our conservative government wants to constantly cut education and they see no other options.

This is not just some guy smoking pot, this guy was a MAJOR drug dealer. Have you ever had to tell a parent their child died because of a drug overdose? Have you ever had a childhood friend kill himself due to drugs? He bought the gun at Joe's Bait. Have you ever been talking to your neighbor and across the street a neighbor took his life because he had spent all his money on drugs? A neighborhood boy about the age of 12 found this neighbor with his head blown off. Don't you realize what drugs do to people? It may be some pot to you, but it has destroys many lives. Heck they even ban smoking in bars and you want to make drugs legal, sounds like a liberal DFLer here folks. Next you want Sara Jane out of prison for attempting to kill a cop and killing a mother during a bank robbery. I bet you have her cookbook.

People, can you read? He was dealing meth, the major money-maker for Mexican gangs. Big difference than pot. The sad thing is that he will make more money in Club Fed and have all the luxuries available.

It would be cool if he could to a coed prison and date Lynette "Squeaky" Fromm (of Manson Family fame).
