What does signing a name have to do with having an opinion? I don't know what's going on but my opinion is this, as a police officered he has a duty to uphold the law. If he can't do that and abide by the same rules as the rest of us after an official investigation, he should be fired. If he's found to be innocent he'll be deserving of an apology. Either way I believe we should know why he's being investigated.

This is very unfortunate news. I know what this is all about and if I had to pick and officer I wish this were attached to, Mr. Young is the last one I'd choose. He's a good man. A good officer and not to mention a very involved and competent Fire Chief. If it's true it's just a very, very bad decision on his part that will and should result in his termination. This village simply cannot tolerate that type of action. Especially in the environment of the past decade or so. IF it's proven to be true, that is. I hope it's not true.

He spends way to much time while on duty with the GPD at the fire department. There I am sure this is not the reason but why the hell can he just do this with are tax dollars. I know he is fire chief but again GVFD is (V) volunteer.
Yes we should have a right to know why he is under investigation!
There are other officers who spend more time visiting with friends and other non work related activities. At least he is dealing with the fire department and the two work hand in hand on some issues. I don't have a problem with him being at the GFD myself (with a limit of course), but the whitton has been seen all over sitting and talking - out of his car and supposedly working. We need some new blood. Any new officer will fall into the same work ethic with these clowns teaching them how to be lazy and cheat the system.

I don't know this man personally, but from my background, small town cops over step their boundaries. They get to comfortable with who they are especially if they live in the same town where they work. This is a receipe for disaster. What we need is a police department that have members who live outside the village/town. I'm sick of seeing these guys do nothing but sit in their own driveways watching cars fly down the street. There is a reason he is being investigated, no integrity. Your supposed to uphold the law, not break it you idiot. Good luck getting another law enforcement job.

Rumors start but in the end the truth (hopefully) will come out. Lets wait and see and let the law run its course. If he was wrong in whatever accusations he is facing then shame on him and anyone else involved, if he was not wrong then good for him also, maybe just a mix up. This stuff happens everyday everywhere.

I agree with dawhoopwhoop we need officers who don't live in the village they work in. they do get to comfy with their job and everyone is not treated equally when it comes to law enforcement.

Whatever the cause, the police dept can not investigate its self. DUR, no matter what the charge is or they think, another agency has to preform the investigation.
