1 Oh Please...all you have to do is look at the spread sheets , to see the absurbity of your statement. Cozad has consistently made money for Tenneco. Our only problem was we are too far away from where the product needs to be. I wish all the plants could stay open. With the closing of this plant ...it has killed three towns.......and crippled a whole county...and surronding counties and small towns. No matter how you see it, a plant closing is a trauma that no one should go thru. There are folks who have worked there whole life here.......and there is many. The blood bank and the united way and many other services have depended on the employees of Cozad for help...and we have always came thru. As we scramble to try and keep the pieces together; as we worry about our towns and all the other businesses who are dependent on the folks who work and spend there money, that they earned in that plant; lets not start tearing down a sister plant...alright.? The folks of this plant worked their butts off to try and keep this plant open. We worked HARD..........did everything we could..we did everything that Tenneco asked. Bent over backwards to make sure everything we did was as perfect as a humane could build. We feel that we were a great plant, and it is a fact that we made Tenneco money every year. Except for the grace of God, go you. Times are tough, and for those of you who are trying to feel good about yourselves, by taking jabs at us.....This is a long ways from being over.You may be next. At any rate, Thanks for the kind words and the support over the last couple of years since this whole thing started. Things will work out, although the changes are going to be huge and so hard. Take care,and stay in touch..I will miss 'ol 8192...even if was contary |

1 Your right about that. I think our only problem was our managment staff making some poor decisions. We all make mistakes. Like I said earlier your going to see alot of changes. Better watch your back. I think tenneco has diffrent plans for the shock absorber industry. I think they will dump that side of the buisness before long. |

1 Harmful - your comment about Tenneco dumping the shock absorber industry may be spot on. Remember when Tenneco had the packaging company years ago and then spun ride control off with a 5 for 1 reverse split? Packaging is not part of Tenneco now and doing well. I think we may be in for something along this line with shocks. Tenneco will probably stay with emmissions only. Who knows but you may be right. |

after 50 years, cozad is too far away? as for quality issues, kettering has to have ya all beat. we have had major issues here. i don't know how long they have been in the shock business, but it doesn't look good from here. would be no surprise if they dumped the shocks altogether. lets ride, these boys in dayton love that red hair. you relocate here, you'd probably never have to worry about finding a job again.lol

As for logistics, how can you justify moving product from Hartwell which is shipped to Nissan five hours away to Mexico? And we want even talk about quality at Mexico. That's a joke. We have heard that Kettering was having some issues with quality but I thought things were improving; are you saying different?

Weellllll, the visits are over, from Paragould, Celaya, and Hartwell. Paragould couldn't have been nicer. thanks for all your help, and all the questions you answered. It's a hurtful situation but ...Thank you. The folks from Mexico also were so nice. They spent a week with us, and overall learned alot, and were very involved with questions with all of us on the floor.
Hartwell..........you have a long way to go on how to meet and greet people. I am sure the folks of your plant would be dissappointed in your arrogance!!!!!! Joey, with OE ride control tried, but the group that was sent, did nothing to make anyone want to go to Hartwell. |
||||
|
I hate to hear that happened while the Hartwell folks were there. The comments that the Hartwell group had about the Cozad folks were very good. They said that everyone at Cozad were very helpful and were pleasant to talk to when they had questions to ask of them. Joey is a politician so he knows how to talk. The other four that were there are good folk. Not sure what happened. Sorry for this behavior. Hopefully when others come from Hartwell in the future they will be more polite.

I have heard that about 10 folks are going to Hartwell; and these folks will be an asset to your facility. I am sure that being what the situation was / is, made things a little nervy. I am glad that they got a positive slant about us, as we really tried to keep it that way, positive.I will say that most of their time, was spent on Mainline and T-line. I also mentioned to others, that the folks that I have exchanged blogs with have been "VERY" nice, and that some of them I have been exchanging thoughts with for over a year. I hope things work out for you, and that the product that we have worked so hard to keep top notch..works well for you. I hope you have a good Thanksgiving......Take Care

I'm sure that the ten or so that are coing will be an asset to us. From what I'm hearing, the folks at Hartwell will have a lot to learn about the product that is moving from Cozad. We at Hartwell are hoping for the best to all at Cozad. Over the years, we have all worked together well and learned from each other. May God bless you all. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you too.

Isn't it too sad, that the knowledge that a company loses when it closes a plant , can't go with the re-location.
|
||||
|
I'd like to add that threw the years. It has been a pleasure working with all of you. I have learned alot working at Tenneco. I wish you all well..
