18 arrests don't stop man from driving

So will it be funny when he kills someone. The justice system in this country is a joke, he should be in jail.

I don't know anything about this guy except what is covered in this article, so I won't presume to make other judgments. Other than a couple of DUI's when he was younger, it doesn't say he's an unsafe driver *now*. Just that he is driving without a license. He, like everyone around here, needs a license to get around but due to laws he is banned from getting a license. I'm definitely not trying to defend this guy, but why are some people here screaming to lock him up and blaming the justice system? The justice system "works" in deterring, penalizing or rehabilitating offenders in most cases. So why blame the system for this guy not taking seriously what most of us value? Not that I have an answer as to solving this problem, but "putting him away" obviously doesn't work so why waste more taxpayer money? Sounds like only a creative solution rather than traditional methods will solve this problem. I wonder what he would have to do in order to qualify in getting his license back. How would any of you handle this if your license were suspended and you still had to get to work, take care of kids, do grocery shopping? How would you accomplish these things?

What is the main point here? What people don't understand is this individual has been arrested 19 times. 19 TIMES! this is not the average citizen that has lost his license and got caught driving once. It is 19 times! Let alone that he has Meth charges and all the issues that come with the drug (theft violence, ect.)I don't even want to hear about if he needs to go from place to place. He lost his license for a reason. Ask yourself one question, Will you have sympathy for him when he is drunk or high and gets into a vehicle and Kills one of your family members. How will you feel then. Your family member is dead because he wanted a big mac. What he is doing is disrespecting everybody in the community. I am sure the cops love getting this guy. But obviously they have been doing thier jobs. It falls on the judicial system. Some would say that the county judge is afraid of punishing the hispanic or black community, for fear of retalliation. Mabye he should suck it up and do his job. I cannot say for certain, but that is what I have heard from people that have been in court with him. All I know is that 19 arrests is a sickning ammount. Something needs to be done! I guarantee that there will be a 20th arrest. This guy is just too stupid to learn.

You can get around just fine by riding a bike, walking, calling a legally licensed friend for a ride or calling a Taxi. Being able to drive is not a right it is a priviledge. They need to throw the book at this guy-no more excuses!

Read my post above. I've lived without a car before and could do it again. I just recently heard a study that said 50% of the kids in the Lex school system are OBESE! It would help if more people quit relying on cars and did a little more walking and biking! I've also walked to work, walked and rode a bike to the grocery store, walked my kids to school etc. If you have small children there are strollers and most strollers will hold your groceries. Besides small children love walks and love being outside!
