dinuba open gate!!!!

MY DISCuSSION IS ON THE OPEN GATE, THIS SHELTER IS CALLED "OPEN GATE MINIStRY'S" AND SITTS ALONG OUR MAIN ROAD EL MONTE. WELL FROM WHAT OUR PASSER BYERS CAN SEE IT IS A WELL RAN MINISTRY. LET ME BE THE ONE TO TELL YOU PUBLIC OF DINUBA IT ISNT WHAT IT SEEMS TO BE ON ThE INSIDE! IRENE IS A VERY IMPORTANT INDAVIDUAL AT OUR OPEN GATE MINISTRY LET ME TELL YOU SHE GReeTS YOU WITH A SMILE AND WELCOMES YOU IN AS IF SHE REALLY WANTS YOU TO COME INTO THE home SO THAT YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN CAN GET THE HELP THAT OPEN GATE HAS TO OFFER. I WAS BROUGHT TO THE OPEN GATE BY THE POLICE, YOU SEE THEY HAD A CALL THAT A WOMEN AND HER KIDS WERE OUTSIDE OF THE RECREATION AND IT WAS A RAINY DAY SO I UNDERSTAND THE CALLERS CONSERN. AN OFFICER CAME AND PROCEEDED TO TAKE US TO THE OPEN GATE, IRENE WELCOMED US AS IF SHE REALLY WAS CONSERNED FOR MINE AND MY KIDS WELL BEING. WELL OPEN GATE HAS CLASSES THAT ARE PROVIDED THAT THE TENENTS MUST ATTEND, I WAS ASKED TO RETURN RITE BACK TO THE STREETS WITH MY CHILDREN BECAUSE I MISSED 2 ART CLASSES THAT THE MINISTRY OFFERS, I WAS AT A FREAKIN WELFARE APPOINTMENT AND ATTEMPTED TO SHOW IRENE THE WELFARE PAPER BUT SHE WASNT HAVEING IT, I REQUESTED TO TALK TO THE HEAD IN CHARGE AND WAS GRANTED MY WISH BUT AS I PLEADED MY CASE IRENE CUT ME OFF AS IF I WAS A CHILD MYSELF AND THAT WAS THE END OF THAT. ME AND MY KIDS WERE OUT ON THE STREETS AGAIN, WE NOW HAVE AN APPARTMENT AND I TRY TO NOT THINK ABOUT WHAT GOES ON ALONG OUR MAIN ROAD BUT THE OTHER DAY I WENT TO THE OPEN GATE AND RECIEVED FOOD FROM THEM. YOU SEE THEY ALSO PROVIDE FOOD FOR FAMILYS THAT NEED THE HELP AT THE END OF THE MONTH AND A VERY BIG HELP IT IS I MUST SAY. WELL THIS VISIT TO GET FOOD LEFT ME WITH AN UPSET STOMACH THERE WAS A WOMEN THAT WALKED ACROSS TOWN WITH AN EMPTY STROLLER SO SHE COULD RECIEVE FOOD BUT SINCE SHE FORGOTT A PAPER BAG SHE WAS DENIED FOOD AS HER CHILDREN AZWAITED HER AT HOME SHE WAS NOT GOING TO RETURN EMPTY HANDED SHE ASKED MY FRIEND IF SHE COULD EMPTY HER BAG INTO THE TRUNK OF THE CAR SO THAT SHE COULD REUSE THE BAG AND TAKE HER 5 KIDS SOME FOOD HOME. NOW COME ON DINUBA I THINK OUR MINISTRY COULD HAVE LET THIS WOMEN SLIDE JUST ONE TIME BUT NO COLD HEARTEDLY THE WOMEN INSIDE DIDNT SO WE GAVE HER THE BAG AND SHE TOOK HER KIDS FOOD HOME. SO NEXT TIME YOU THINK OF DONATING TO THE OPEN GATE I ASK U THIS DO YOU KNOW WHO OR WHAT UR DONATEING TO PLEASE DO GO BY UNEXPECTEDLY THATS THE BEST TIME TO SEE HOW THE PLACE IS REALLY RAN.

I believe it is so as the same for our city of Reedley... we have this program called CYM (community youth ministries) and that place is also a bunchof crap!! they have people who dont even know what they are doing running the place the place... a lot of favortism is involved and it is awful.... they help who ever they desire and thats final... some of these programa are being ran by people who dont have any idea what we single mothers go through on a daily bases!! and it needs to be stopped.... someone needs to open up....

Exactly i feel and understand u both i feel the same way about open gate and if reedley or ene other places are being ran in this same manner then yes it needs to b stopped

maybe the rules was you had to let them know BEFORE you went to the walfare dept.

About the bag
It could be safety reason for having bag. they could fall out of someone cart and hurt someone.
and it called "responsibility" to bring your own bag.

My heart and prayers go out to each person that is touched by Open Gate Ministries. For many years my family and I have been fortunate enough to have had the means to donate to this very important community outreach. It is always a blessing for us to feel that in some small way, our gift has been able to comfort a soul that has fallen upon hard times. Many times we have prayed for the families in need and those at Open Gate that work there to serve the needy. We have been in the home to help clean and repair it. We have packed boxes of food that is distributed to the needy families of our town. It is sad to hear that there have been times when you feel that your needs have not been met in the manner you feel will best suit you, but please do remember that there must be some rules that must be followed.
It is our hope that you will be able to regain your financial independence and perhaps in the future also be able to help others in need. You can do it! The Lord God has never left you and He never will. Through faith in Him, you will find the strength and means that you will need to get you through the tough times.

Open gate has helped so many,but of course they can not help everyone. I remember when LOVE INC was being discussed whether or not it should come to Dinuba by Dinuba Pastors....most of them objected while a handful were for it. The handful of course could see that as great as Open Gate is...they still lack the ability to carry a whole city. That is why single mothers with their 12 year old sons are turned away,because the son might be sexually active with other girls there...and the boy is usually guilty before commiting anything. Also parents are turned away because one might be LEGALLY prescribed too many "EVIL" meds...haha..which they usually give to you unless you are on multiple pills which they don't have time for.So I encourage anyone to start a non-profit for Dinuba,because Open Gate will only continue to fail if we the people just sit on our butts and send money to one organization...just like the pastors of Dinuba do.Since when did Open Gate become the "tagged" entity for all these so-called Churches of Jesus Christ? Because if the churches were choosing to listen to the cries of the city to begin with...OPEN GATE would never have had to be thought of!!! But still Open Gate is a good start and has been for many years....but that's the problem...they are still just a GOOD START!

my COMMENTS ARE FOR THOSE PEOPLE WHO THINK THAT THEY DESERVE THE HELP. WELL THEY DON'T. THE PEOPLE AT OPEN GATE HELP A LOT JUST BY OFFERING YOU TO STAY AND FEEDING YOU WHEN YOU WERE LOST ON THE STREETS WITH OUT A MEAL. YOU SHOULD NEVER THROW PIE THE FACE OF A PERSON WHO WITH NO REASON TO HELP DOES. IRENE IS A VERY KIND LADY AND HELPS WITH OPEN ARMS. STOP MAKING EXCUSSES FOR YOURSELF AND MAN UP OR WOMAN UP. YOU ARE ANGRY AT THE WRONG PERSON. YOU SHOULD BE FOCUSING THAT ANGER TOWARDS YOURSELF AND GET YOURSELF SOME HELP.

Angel...your advice is nearly worthless. OpenGate does exist for the very reasons you speak of.Whether a person tried their hardest or even if they simply gave up...we are not to judge why or if they work hard enough.But I agree with whoever said that OPENGATE can't do much but help a selected few(praise God for that though).There needs to be more churches that become like Open-Gate themselves...but no one wants to take away from Open Gate or seem like they are competing with them. That is dumb I think...

I am very blessed to have the opportunity to Minister to the people of OpenGate. I hold a Bible study there on Celebrate Recovery. I get to see alot and talk alot to the people there. What i have encountered is a loving place. Irene is a very Godly women and i am truly blessed to know her as well as everyone she comes in contact with. They have very strict rules guests have to abide by. The people who come in are in need of rules and structure. A lot of people that have problems with the rules need to examine where they were before they came to Open Gate. These rules are there to help you change the way you do things, which are the reason you are in the position you're in. Changing the way you live and believe, and throwing off the rebellious nature, is one of the reasons for Open Gate. Not just to get you in out of the rain. Wrong Jessica...What's sad is that Open Gate exist.It wouldn't need to be if more churches stepped up to the plate instead of paying off OpenGate to do it.Open Gate gives every church the excuse of sending people to Open Gate that fits "OPen Gate" criteria.Bunch if rubbish.
