I cant even believe there was talk of not charging him ( from News reports) He deserves to be in jail the rest of his life in my opinion.

The picture speaks louder than words. I wonder how fast this idiot was going? And are the blue tarps covering the bodies? That's horrible!

ARE YOU KIDDING??? HE WAS DRIVING HIS VEHICLE SO FAST THAT HE HIT A FIXED OBJECT AND STILL SPLIT A VAN IN HALF. oh did you miss the part about running the red light? This is not a accident. Where is personal responsibility? When you are driving you don't get to disobey speed limits/lights/signs and crash into anything you want. His actions caused the death of 5 people. The only compassion I feel are for the victims and the people left behind grieving due to this sensless crime. |

Charles - this is another time where playing devils advocate is inappropriate. The man chose to travel at a rate of speed that was more than well above the speed limit. This man chose to to disregard the safety of ANYONE else and ran a red light. This man told someone that he was late to picking someone up or something so inconsequential to that nature. This man chose his actions. Now he needs to pay. |

Ms D: So basically what you are saying is that it is okay to travel at such a high rate of speed so as to split a vehicle in half, run a red light and disobey other trasffic rules if there is something wrong with your child? How about a police escort or maybe a ride in a police car. At least they have lights and sirens??? |

Shame on you |

you are right about what you are saying am just saying give him a chance to explane his side. he is griving to about what happen to this family. just dont dog him out like that. he is human you know. |

This was an accident. A horrible accident. But it is called an accident for a reason. Do I think the man needs to be charged? No. Just like I don't think anyone who gets in an accident should be charged. It was an accident. And any of you who want to dispute it by saying he was speeding or ran the red light...I'd challenge any of you with have you ever sped? Have you ever not come to a complete stop at a light? It was a terrible accident, but an accident none the less. We have become so blood hungry that we are ready to lynch anyone who intentionally or un-intentionally hurts someone. It was an accident. Sad but true.

Sometimes I read these and laugh at the ignorance or hypocrites that are walking among us. If this one statement can change your view by you placing your son or daughter behind the wheel of the car that hit the van you may be one or both. Using the same info given in this article you would start saying maybe this happened.. or maybe that.. and making excuses for you offspring. Instead it doesn’t involve them or you so it makes it easier for you to fry this guy without due representation. He may be wrong, but it wouldn’t be the first time someone may a terrible mistake and someone died because of it.

I guess when someone CHOOSES to do something that is wrong, offensive, illegal or against public policy and in the process of doing so they take another's life, we are supposed to not be outraged or want retribution because it was "an accident" "he didn't plan on hurting anyone." Well - ypu you are correct - it was an accident. But it was intentional. He knew by making the bad choices that potentially something bad could happen. In this case Bad did happen and now he gets to live with the consequences of his thoughtless actions.

That is no excuse for being negligent and running red lights. Better late than sorry. Did someone eventually pick up his kid, because causing the accident and killing and injuring people (including himself) prevented him from getting there in time. |

Thank you Joi

Either way you look at it, accident or not, a family was killed in this incident. I will be the first to say that I don't always drive the speed limit. I view it as more of a suggestion. But I have never drivin down a residential area at such a speed as to split another vehicle in half like that. Running a redlight is an offense. It is breaking the law. And if by breaking that law you kill someone, then YES, you should be charged. Whether he had a seizure or a brief moment with God, it would be the same thing as if he were drunk. when you are drunk you are impared. If he were drunk, everyone would be screaming for his head. But it is the same thing, if he had a seizure then he was impared. having to haul A S S just to pick up your kids is wrong. He should have already been there or on his way to picking them up. In this day of technology, he could have called the place he was picking them up from and asked for them to wait for a few minutes as he was on his way.

This is a tragedy all the way around. I am not ready to hang the alleged red light runner. A jury of his peers will decide. Stuff happens, could be medical or mechanical reason for his action.
Let's not also forget the poor Mother of the foster children that were murdered. |

I'm curious as to what make of van this was! There was nothing left but twisted metal! I thought the vehicles these days also had more safety features installed, and even though hit at a high rate of speed, I cannot imagine what is left of this vehicle! Has there been mention as to what the car that hit the van was clocked at? "High rate of speed" is subjective...

So you think that he shouldn't be charged with anything? Then what you are saying is that our laws don't mean anything and that anyone can break them, such as speeding and running red lights, and nothing happen to them? Great! Then I'm going out and run all the red lights while traveling in excess of 100 mph and maybe you will be lucky enough that you won't be crossing the intersection while I'm disobeying the traffic laws. Heck, even if I did hit you, you won't be mad because it will just be an accident. |

He caused the wreck by running a red light and going WAY TOO FAST! you pay for your actions, being arrested is only the first step. he took 5 peoples lives because he was in a hurry. What is it with you and criminals. Yes i know there are few that are innocent but not many. THIS GUY KILLED 5 PEOPLE, granit it wasnt on purpose, but hs actions were |
