Well, I tried the "ole smokey" legal shine, and it's pretty weak compared to the real stuff. One more thing the government needs to get out of regulating-the strength of my liquor.

The Feds allow people to make wine and beer at home for personal consumption so why can't people make moonshine for personal consumption? After all, it will be personally consumed at some point. The poor man making the brew was just putting up a stash to last through the winter.

The WSMV article said he had a history dating 40 years ago. This would have been the early 70s. If he was caught before for moonshining did he get caught with anyone or was he a loner?

Was all about pissing off someone and they ratted him out. And there was only 750 gallons there. Now they are going after him for the taxes due on the stuff they poured out!!

I know cause he's family.

I would bet that if "moonshine," was made that informants talked some poor person into making it, so they could make money. Moonshine is not popular, and no longer exists. That is why I believe that it was some informants profiteering by talking some simple minded individual given to this kind of informant peer pressure into making it. Moonshine, like using drugs, is not pop culture anymore. Its just not done.
