Pell sparks outrage over Koran comments

The comments are a fact in the present day senario and is nothing new to the world if it is awake.

Pell, it's what he does. We have American prelates who adore their name in print. The reality is they just come off stupid.

I have read many portions of the koran, as well as Ishaq's Sira--a sort of biography of Mohammad. If you have the guts, you can read some of it for yourself here:

It also badly polutes ones mind and it is for this reason that muslims are always trying to defend it as unaltered and comes from Allah direct to the Prophet Mohammad.Muslims spend more time talking about the religion than practising it and go to lengths to politise it and create more misunderstanding and disharmony.

I'm not particularly worried about Pell's comments, he's known for his controversial outspokenness. Be it stem cell research, the Quran or global warming I don't see much relevance in it personally. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, I just don't agree with it and as the article suggests, many Catholics don't either. "Jesus is" you've just asked me to think about God in another post, I ask you to do the same. Suppose you're right in your allegations about the Quran, but suppose you're not and it truly is a holy book with words of God almighty (all powerful, all merciful). Are you sure He'd be particularly happy with what you claim? Please just don't make random allegations to preach Christianity in this Islam blog. I don't think it particularly seems the most Christian or Islamic thing to do.

And to "Monettan in Exile" I wouldn't choose to read the Quran from a shifty site that adds personal interpretations to the Quran while supposedly translating it. The name of the website itself suggests its bias. If you want a true interpretation of the Quran without another individual's bias, may I please request you be careful about the translations you get off the internet, like these comments they can be written by anyone.

A defensive comment. Look at Zakir Naik on Islamic Peace T.V. channel how he distorts other religions to justify that the Quran is right and perfect.He even misinterprits and has msiconceptions of other religion which I think is offensive to others and at times he is vey rude and barbaric.Thsi man is the cause of alash of civilization.

That translation of the Koran is the real thing Kaching. All one has to do is read any of the non-sanitized versions out there.

The Koran is the book of the Peaceful Religion of Islam! Those PEACE LOVING Muslims are sure PEACEFUL aren't they!! Yep! Even after they killed and ran off all the poor Zoroastrians from the Mid East they couldn't stop killing... it's a bad habit for muslims... Shiite killing Sunni... Sunnis killing Jews... etc. etc. At least the Christians only went to war with each other for a few hundred years, but the Muslims have been killing each other without letup since about the year 650 or so.
