James wrote: I was in the orphanage at Helena, Oklahoma, and adopted. My little sister, Octavia Lucielle, was there as were two brothers and another sister. Her name was changed, and I believe she was adopted just before me.I was told that her adopted parents went back after me and found that I had been taken out of the orphanage by another couple. Uncle Jim! This is very true! I remember my mother and Grandmother speaking of it many, many times. They were so disappointed when the orphanage told them they had to come back in 6 months and you were gone!

My mother was good friends with Faye! Her name is Rosie lee Jennings. SHe was in West Oklahoma Home from Sept. 1938-July 14, 1944. Her and Faye kept in contact some and I would love to have some information on the place. I believe they are having another reunion in June 2009.

If you are looking for a lost relative... don't hesitate when you find a lead. I found James Ellis who I know was my Uncle and then found out he had passed away this last December. I am so sorry that I did not push harder to contact him! If anyone knows his family or any of his relatives... please let me know!

I am taking a chance since a couple of years have passed that you still remain an active email user. I'm hoping for some info/any info on the orphanage and whether you might recall any of the following people: HenryEtta Taylor Gwenn Taylor, Harry Taylor Henry Lee Taylor Raymon Taylor (adopted by McDaniels in Lahoma, OK) Dora Taylor Virgil Taylor Harcourt "Corky" Taylor Louise Carter (Dora's best friend) The Taylor kids were all put in home accept the 9th which was the oldest (Josie). These people are all relatives as HenryEtta was my grandmother. Any information about the orphanage would be helpful and thank you! Respectfully, Jim Ellis wrote: Can find no info on an orphanage where I was in about 1935. I remember my adopted parents saying, "Behave or I'll take you back to Helena". I didn't like it there. Trying to put together a newsletter for my family, any help appreciated. I see a picture which is now a prison, which MAY be the same place. Jim (Robertson) Ellis
