Whitney was an awesome girl! She was my cousin! To the commentor insertnamehere, why the hell would he even point a gun at someone! Oh, and not only, did he hurt someone, theres about two towns,(valley Mills,Clifton, China Spring, and Waco), where this has affected at least 90% of those people! Maybe school needs to teach gun safety!!!!

WACO - Waco Police have confirmed that 13-year-old Whitney Longoria was shot and killed by another teen shortly before twelve last night.

The teens had just finished watching a movie at the male's house in the 2200 block of Trinity. The male took out a handgun, showing it to the girl. He said it was unloaded, however it had not been cleared.

The pistol then discharged, strinking the girl in the right shoulder, the bullet then entered the girl's chest.

The 14-year-old male suspect is in custody on criminal negligent homicide. His name has not been released.

thas tha story so sad :(

Whitney was one of my sisters best friends. She worshiped my mother and always called her Mom.

This is devastating for everyone. Accidents happen unfortunately there have been numerous accidents to youth this year already in our area. Perhaps the problem is the lack of parental supervision in todays society. It's apparent from all the accounts we've heard this was indeed a very unfortunate accident. Why should another childs life be ruined. Can you imagine what this boy has gone through. Whitney wouldn't have wanted his life destroyed, he was very dear to her. I want to let all the parents involved know that many of us feel your heartache and loss, being children we know how easily situations can occur.

I pray God will bless both families and his will only shall be done in the lives of all involved. I also pray that the law, greed and revenge do not impair your judgement and ability to help this young boy heal from this emotionally devestating experience. Be thankful for what you still have.
Whitney is watching!

It all happened tooooooo soon. Whitney was saying when she got back from Christmas break, she was going to play soccer and track for the school(Tennyson). Its so sad thats she didnt get accomplish her dream. I went to school with her at parkdale for like 3 or 2 years, and at Tennyson, half the year. I never thought she would die. I didn't believe it when I heard it, but thats life. But I know shes watchin over us right now tellin us dont be sad.

R.I.P Whitney Longoria.

I knew of Whitney thru her dad Jeff. He always bragged to me about his "baby"...he loved that beautiful little girl with all he had. He affectionately referred to her as his "Ney-Ney". I know that she had been living with him for a while and just recently went back to live with her mom. She was loved by so many people. When her dad told me what had happened, my heart broke and went out to him...for I too have a 13-year old daughter...and this really hit close to home for me. I can't even imagine the pain of having to bury your own child...no parent should ever have to go thru that. Especially a senseless death..that could have been avoided. Kinda makes you realize how precious life is though...and to appreciate and cherish what you have now...and never take anything for granted. I tell you one thing...it made me appreciate my children a whole heck of a lot more. I hope this is a hard lesson learned about guns. Guns and children do not mix...if you have to have guns in your house...keep them locked up and away from your kids being able to access them...its just too much of a temptation! My heart and prayers go out to Jeff and the rest of Whitney's family.

Daily Horoscope for January 8

Taurus

Although the influences around now tend to give you endurance and stamina, you do have to watch that you're not straining your body too much, or trying to force yourself to do things that you don't want to do. Too much willpower can sometimes make you push yourself past your limits. You may be overspending to compensate, because you feel that you deserve a little reward for all your hard work. However, you'll have to pay the piper sooner or later!
