i feel that they should investigate the crime scene first..did witnesses actually see monterio at the scene of the crime..i don't think he should be charged with the murder..

It has been investigated. Witnesses SAW HIM at the scene. He SHOULD BE CHARGED.

it disheartening to read that more people identify with the SHOOTER than the SLAIN. Thank you for your comments.While not trying to defend a whole race,i would like to make an observation.The comment "These are the black people who make all of blacks look bad." while true,doesn't do true justice to a lager issue at hand.Violence is just one of our societies dirty little pleasures.We promote it thru our movies,music,tv shows,and sometimes sporting events.when a child or teen with anger or self-esteem issues id cut off from an outlet such as sports (from a lack of ability or eligibilty)where will this frustration be channeled? When all your peers are teaching you that violence is the answer to solve your problems without the influence of a parent to temper or redirect the information they are getting from said peers or media,this is what happens.Now,we can all agree that their are outlets to channel the kids aggression and make it more constructive,but who wants to pay for it? Again,this one of many things i have thought about since my son was shot anfd killed,and although i have no love for the shooter,if i could go back in time and change their paths with boxing or karate or mixed martial arts classes, i would have.Sat down with both of them and made them work out their differences,i would.This didn't have to happen.And we all must work harder to make black people look better.To make all people better.

I don't personally know either party, but from the accounts I've heard from other people running in the same circles as the two involved, it had eveything to do with drugs and money...not that I'm siding with either party but when you put yourself in situations like that, bad things are going to happen...money alone is enough to strain relationships, even peer-peer, to the breaking point, adding drugs and greed to an already volatile situation and you are exactly right, voilence will occur. I am terribly sorry for your loss and wish there was a cure-all to end violence like this in the town I've grown fond of over my last eight years living here, but I think we all know that it will never happen...morale of the story: when you do gangsta s***, gangsta s*** is bound to come back around on you eventually...I'm really not sure why people try to turn this into a racial issue...it could just have easily been a white, hispanic, etc. in the exact same situation and the results would be about the same...

I knew both Craig, and Monterio. I graduated from GHS in 2004..when I moved away to go off to school, for some reason, I thought that Goldsboro would be somewhat in a better condition..I thought wrong. I just moved back in July, and, even though some things have changed, some things just NEVER change. I have a 2 year old son. And though I can't even begin to imagine how it feels to lose a son, my heart goes out to Craig's friends and family..especially his son. We will never know why some things happen, but, God is too wise to make a mistake. To Craig's father, I really commend you for spreading some wisdom to the people that seem not to care, and show no compassion.May God bless you, and continue to give you peace.
