What he's happy about is that the forums are even more useless babble than usual. It makes for LESS of an audience. One day, the forum may not have any participants. Then, only then can intelligent people find a quiet, pleasant, place to discuss ways to improve the local condition.

The wowies -- for lack of a better word -- think waaaaay too deeply for the rest of us to come even close to comprehending. The idea of a multiyear budget is not necessarily a bad thing, but with this Board, it could set the county down a long road of destructive road. And that is the danger of multiyear budgeting. An inept board of supervisors could set the county back decades.

Given the recent history of useless posts, I was about to jump down your throat.......then I was shocked that someone actually thought about the topic. Thanks.

The idea of a multiyear budget is simply to 'plan' ahead and make sure we are not blindsided. No 'one board' can set something in motion with a multiyear budget that can't be outdone as in the current system. The multiyear budget is simply a 'forecasting' tool.

Your idea of one board 'screwing' up though is valid. But it would not be because of a forecasting tool.

It is doable. High Tec Corps are already using internet communications for meetings, what makes BOS "special".

Here is one: Have alternate BOS if there is a question of "ethics or misuse of positions"?
Suspend the acting BOS who is under investigation.
Bring in the alternate for "fuel" until it is resolved. Oh, no pay for alternate, unless it requires long term need. Then take that pay out of the "elected prime".... Amending the guidelines to the standards of the BOS or PC could be done, if it supported by the people. Time & energy would apply.

Well, at least I keep the same user name. But I will disagree with you on the mulityear budget. There are projects that can be started in one fiscal year and then carried on over several years into a new Board's term and then it would be too late to back out. I will say it again, it could be a good planning tool in the right hands.

The local goverment is a HUGE corportion, if you will. It has to be run by one with experience in every facet , to it's center core.(Backbone Required):D

We are talking multi billions of $$$ to handle, planning, etc. " Giving it a try" ain't gonna cut it.

Let's not forget the emails that Traveler got from Mowry to the puppets, telling them to stay quiet, and stay the course, the media will get tired and ease up on them. This was the middle of Jan, and I, for one, am so glad that Matt didn't give up, and I'm so glad that a large number of citizens, like myself, have been vigilant in keeping the county informed and fired up.

It's gotten to the point where every time Mowry stands to speak, I turn my ears off and catch a 5 minute nap.
