Why couldn't the defendants pay THEIR OWN attorneys? Oh, I forgot...they are the me, me, me entitlement! We, the taxpayers should get reimbursed after payments.

1 I also said when they were elected they weren't interested in helping better the county, but rather they were more interested in showing everyone they were in charge and doing what they want. They have proved it over and over. |

Well, now that the county is going to pay the legal fees, I wonder how long it will take for the civil suits to start for punitive damages. I certainly took note at how Altemus commented about how her family was drug thru the mud, etc. I believe the woman plans to retire rich.....

WH, if you really own property here, you'll help pay the bill, too.
It'll be your entertainment tax - so I'm sure you won't mind - you don't need to bother answering. |

That sound you're hearing is Gloucester county going down the toilet. KER-FLUSH!
Does anyone know the political affiliation of these "super civil servants". Could they all be dumbocrats? |

I thought I would come to this site tonight and read a few thoughts from people about their hopes for moving forward and maybe a few comments on the arrogance of the BOS. In my wildest dreams I did not believe there could be a topper for what you guys have been through. This group managed to pull it off though. It wasn't bad enough to steal your money to pay their legal fees so they are hiring an attorney to collect your "penalties". UNBELIEVABLE! I hope that you don't give up but try every avenue available to beat this. Won't the new board have the majority? It might be possible to override this vote. In some cases it has been said that new boards can't be held hostage to old boards votes. It is worth asking about but I am sure the wheels are already spinning in Gloucester.

1 she has had a "For rent" sign over her every vote, and now the old bat is out of a job, I can only guess at what backdoor tricks shes going to try and pull off before she hits the un-employment lines. Either way , I live here in Gloucester County and Im glad to see her smug-ass self gone. Now its time to get this mess straightend out , ok new crew , heres your chance, why dont you try and impress the heck out of us all by taking the doors off of that back room. |

The question now is, how is the county going to pay for this miscarriage of self serving governance? Which programs are going to be cancelled, which construction projects are going to be delayed, are any employees going to be terminated, are taxes going to be raised to pay fir this self serving act? Are the itemized bills of these 4 pseudo people's representatives, going to be presented for public scrutiny before the funds are dispersed? Even their last slap in the face to the citizens of Gloucester is going to be cloaked in secrecy! Good riddance TA, the rest will be joining you in 2011.

1 I doubt that $340,000 dollars divided among 4 people is going to make anyone rich. |

The budget will tell the impact on their decision, but gladly, TA won't be in office when this is decided. But the impact will be felt.

Thank goodness their terms are almost over. Then maybe we can get down to real government and not all this garbage. Love how they are squeezing all this in before they are OUT!

I'm not quite sure you understood the context of my statement. The $340,000, as we all know, if for the legal bills and not refelctive of any payment to the supervisors. My concern is that a lawsuit againt the county for puitive damages could arise given teh commentary from TA, and certainly she would have a leg to stand on since she lost the election. Unless, of course, elected officials are unable to sue the county based on damage to their reputation....? |

1 I doubt that any of these 4 BOS will be able to sue for slander, if that is what you are talking about. Elected officials put themselves out there for public criticism. Kind of goes with the territory. However, damages to their bank accounts because they had no choice but to defend themselves is another matter. I'm pretty sure they have a right to recoup those losses. But I don't think they'll be getting rich from it. Just even. |

1 They are public officials, so they cannot sue for slander unless the statements are made against their personal issues, but even then it's open for interpretation. Let's face it, Bush was called very name in the book while he was president, accused of everything and blamed for everything and he didn't sue, because he is a public official also. Saying that, anyone can file a lawsuit, but most lawyers wouldn't take her case unless they had up front money. IMO |
