The school board knew and did nothing. I think resignations are in order for the board, from the president down. Was it just to have a winning team? The board should be ashamed of themselves for putting that poor girl through this ordeal and subjecting our children to this sick behavior.

The anger, the tears, the way it has become more distant through time, yet reading all of this I am not surprised. I was shocked in 2003, but now it all makes sense. I can only imagine the wake of personal destruction left by this person. I am writing this in some odd way to rid myself of my own anger. Peace, prayers and strength to all involved.

I am an alumni of Glenwood City and am absolutly sickened by the LACK of action that has been taken by the board! Is it because many of them also played for Fred and still hold that allegiance to him? This man is sick, WHAT is he doing stalking a minor? What was he thinking when he re-approached her again in Sept? Does he think "NO" does not mean NO! He WAS a teacher, A TEACHER Ladies and Gentleman that you sent your children to every day. He is a man that wants to coach them again! I think the shadow of doubt, or skeptism, on this whole situation has been lifted with his last tresspassing, stalking, terrifying episode, that Fred Booth put this girl through don't you? As a tax payer, I am less than happy Fred Booth is on paid leave. Enough! He know has ANOTHER restraining order filed against him, he has broken the law again, what will it take? He needs help and some time in jail.

I am appalled that this man is allowed to be out and amongst the rest of the public. He is begging to be put away, so for God sake, send this man to jail. What is it going to take, is he going to have to hurt someone before he is taken seriously? Parents watch your children, there are men like this everywhere!!!!

Been going on to long? Would have to agree with that - been going on since at least the 80's, maybe before. Funny how he picked out young girls from broken homes who would be most vulnerable. I know of 3 girls that went thru his stalking and I'm sure it'll come out. At least it should come out with law enforcement doing interviews in town.

It was said when the Quinn case first came up that the board didn't want to fire him because it would mess up his retirement. Instead the board hired an aide to shadow him to ensure he wasn't alone with a female student. Oh, the reason he couldn't be alone with a female student was because of a court order dealing withe Quinn case first time around. What the heck - aide's don't cost much and it's only taxpayer's money.

This time around, I hear Fred was pushed hard into retirement from teaching. However, Emholtz (superintendent) has a son coming up and and wanted Fred to coach him. Now the way the contracts read, teachers get first shot at coaching positions. Emholtz let it be known and brought pressure to ensure no one else would apply.

While Fred has friends at the school, there are just as many, if not more teachers that think he should have been fired long ago.

He has to go and along with him maybe some of the people who are protecting him in the name of basketball! Protecting him and not the children he is after. Sad, sad for the kids, the parents, the town. Sickening that some people will allow this to happen.

I would never have dreamed of Fred doing this. I was shocked the first time and even more shocked now. I think he needs treatment and not ever be allowed to teach/coach kids again! I used to think most everything Fred said was the "gospel" , except for all of his "stories" of growing up with Wheeler and crew. I can't emphasize enough how disappointed I am in him. My heart goes out to his family and the embassasment he has brought them.....it far outweighs the joy that he once brought.....Run, Joyce, Run!!

We always thought the lord would punish this guy for all the pain he caused the students of this school (that played (or tried to play) for you).
It's nice to see he punished himself in the long run. This is what happens when one man has to much Power over a town, all in the name of basketball, WOW!!!

You prey on the needy, and ignore those students that could have really helped you meet your goals on the court. We are all aw struck by your actions, but not that suprised. Maybe someone should have helped you more as a child.

Who are you to say what he was. He has been a mentoir, coach, teacher, friend, known figure to support the community for several decades. Yet, he has a obsession disorder a sickness. He is a ashtonding person in his accomplishments in his own right, but now he needs help. He is every thing but a loser, he just needs help in his personal life. He is a Championship coach, teacher, and friend that made bad choices, he is HUMAN!!!!

I am devestated by this whole ordeal. I have know both parties and thier familes. He has been a mentor not just for me but for alot of families in the Western WI area. Fred is a State Championship calliber coach w/ excellent-leadership-mentoring -motivastion skills, and also a excellent teacher, He is a true person in all of thse genres, but yet he has a diesease a sickness, Obsession Disorder. I am just disgusted in his behavior and his actions. I know he is not proud of his actions, and I want to think the Fred I knew is still in him somewhere, I may be in denial! My prayers go out to the Booth Family and the Quinn Family God Blesses!

Not true on the contract! It does NOT state coaching positions should be offered to teachers first. It simply states that a "qualified" person should be offered the position. AND NEVER NEVER NEVER did Emholtz try to influence teachers to stay away from the job. One thing about Emholtz is he is about the kids. Championship or not he will protect them. So wherever you get your facts check again! Oh and he was not pushed hard into retirement. the way the GCSD retirement package works he would have been a fool to stay longer! Besides by retiring he assured his wife a position.

Responding to: Past Player and Friend and John, I read your comments above and wanted to ask you this question, "If it was your daughter that Fred was watching while she slept, or your daughter that Fred was telling she was hot and sexy" would you still feel as strongly as you do? I agree that Fred had a huge impact on the school with his coaching abilities, but defending him now seems ridiculous. He needs to be charged for what he has done, he needs to be removed from ALL coaching, assistant coaching, duties. As a community I would like to see the people of Glenwood stand up and let it be known that this is not acceptable. NO WAY, NO HOW. I am worried that nothing is going to happen, just like before. Will something be done? Or will we have to wait until he takes it another step further? I think everyone is under the same frame of mind here and that is "Our children need to be safe" If so, he must go. An apology to these kids who have had to live thru the shuns and taunts of this community is also appropriate.

I am in by no means supporting Fred. Personally, I thought there should have been more done the first time. I was simply stating facts so that there is no confusion or rampant rumors.
And if it was my daughter he would be looking for his teeth.

Fred has put these girls and their family's though alot of hell. Don't you think he should go though the same hell. I think he should get the book thrown at him. If you enter someone's house without permission and don't see anything wrong with it then something is wrong with you. He is lucky he didn't get kicked down the steps. I am very close to Jessica and I know Fred and I support Jessica 100%. Fred needs help and I hope he gets some and leaves her alone.
