They are called "Wild Animals" for a reason, if you aren't smart enough to figure it out you deserve to be bear, tiger, lion, snake or string ray food. I threw in the string ray thing because i watched the crocidle "dumbass" dangle his baby over the croc., i figure the string ray deal was some kind of karma.

I am not impressed the way some of these people actually had the nerve to make fun of this woman that was killed.

if one of your family members or freinds were killed by a dog, a rapist, a car accident, serial killer, or any other type of accident.
would they have been made a joke of it.

so, what do you think, cars should be banned, what is the answer to serial killers, kids that kill their class mates, and parents???????

There is nothing wrong with owning a "wild animal"
as some of you people call them.
I have over 10 years experience with raising two black bears, three foxes and two raccoons.
They are NOT wild animals now. they are captive born, and hand raised by humans. they are alot different than some of the animals in the wild.

I have many years experience with other animals, which helps to understand them better. I have found that some of the farm animals I had are more dangerous than my black bears..

I don't think exotic animals are for everyone, but, for people that have a love for animals, interest in learning their personalities.

I also believe that anyone that is considering any type of captive born animal, should do alot of research, and understand what they are getting into. it takes "common sense" to raise them also.

and for the record, CAPTIVE BORN BEARS, OR ANY TYPE OF ANIMAL that has been raised by people, should NEVER be released back into the wild.
THEY WON'T SURVIVE. they depend on humans to feed them.

There are a lot of caring and good exotic owners out there, it is sad all we hear are the bad..

so, before some of you people flap your mouth and think that all bears or whatever should be kept in the wild, think again.

are some of you forgetting some of the attacks by "WILD ANIMALS" living in the wild??
are you forgetting about the disease, rabies some of these animals have.

its pretty apparent that some of you have no idea what you are talking about..........

Do you mean you were holding wildlife in a confined space, as prisoners? And you were a kindly prison warden? Is that what you're saying?

YukYukYuk,

first of all idiot, you have no idea what you are talking about. people like you really annoy me.
thinking they know it all..

NO, my animals are NOT held in a confined small pen. I am NOT a stupid person, especially when it comes to animals. my bears have a very very large pen. they have a two story house where they can go in and they den on the second floor.(their preference)

they love people (no one is allowed in their pen though) they get treats, and have learned to never stand when I am around them. bears are very intelligent animals. most likely, more intelligent than you are.

I don't believe in confining any animal, including dogs. my dogs have free run of my farm propery.
I do not believe in chaining a dog or any animal.

I guess in your eyes, it is OK to chain a dog on a short chain, or leave them in a hot car.

if you don't have experience with animals, then keep your stupid opinions to yourself.

one more thing,

you can blame the pen size on the game commission.
their pen requirements are way too small.

I know that and knew that when I did the pen for my bears. there is no way a bear will be happy in the game commission pen requirments.

I wouldn't even put a small animal in that size.

Some of the comments have been very entertaining, but at the expense of a woman's death that probably devastated her family. She made a mistake, that doesn't make her stupid or any of the other epitaphs that have been applied to her. It made her human. I don't think she would have wanted her death to be used by PETA types to support their twisted views on exotic pets. The "wildlife belongs in the wild" only works to the extent that people are willing to accept that they DON"T belong in the wild. Until that happens, the only hope for the survival of "wild" animals is humans' willingness to create living spaces for them. We need to educate people on the adequate amount of space and care an exotic pet needs. Not ban them and thus push them further down the road to extinction.

Hey there's smart people who HAVE SOME......yes, some \\common sensee//, and then there's others that don't even have enough sense to know better! Duh......!

Nature 'culls' the weak and the unfortunate, the feeble, and the innocent. This woman was killed because she was innocent, too trusting, and pig-headed too! Hey you can't win them all!

Dogs and cats have been domesticated, but NOT ALL dogs and cats can be domesticated. In fact, some of them should just be put to death, because they are not only a nuisance to sodiety, but they're dangerous. If you can't rehabilitate a HUMAN BEING, how in the world can you rehabilitate a beast? Good Laaawwwd......get some common sense, already........phheewwwwwww!

Reading the comments makes it pretty easy to separate the people that have grown up with animals and those who haven't. Their comments (and mine) are valid to them. Those that feel "wild" animals should never be pets, should never have an exotic pet. Those of us that have grown up with, love, and have cared for "wild" pets should be allowed to continue to do so as long as the pets needs are met. The world is not a sympathetic place, a mistake may or may not cause you to lose your life. The results don't make a person stupid, bull headed, or lacking in sense. The glass house deal is in effect. Just because you are still alive doesn't mean you've never made a mistake.

No such thing as a "pet" bear.
I got three of them on my farm here in Fayette County, they are friendly to me and like to eat dead cows so I don't have to do much cleaning up.
