The Tulsa River Parks' original "Turkey Mountain Wilderness Park" which is upon the top of the hill where West 61st Street and South Elwood Avenue meet was supposed to have been left in a wild state according to an agreement with those who donated the property.

What is below the hill and north of West 71st Street was added later.

While oil wells did exist in places on top of the hill before the place became a park, in my opinion, Turkey Mountain Wilderness Park should be left alone.

The original park was even registered with the United States Department of Interior National Park Service.

The sign to the entrance to the park on top of the hill even had that information on it.

I would say to the City of Tulsa, do whatever you want with the land you annexed to the original park but, leave the orignal park alone.

If there is oil there, they could directional drill from the new part.

The last time I was there quite a few years ago, almost all of the people in the park were not doing anything to prove they are gay.

In the early 1980s and later in the early 1990s, most of the sexual activity that took place up there was not by out of the closet gays and not by heterosexually married men.

One time in the 1980s, I was walking in the woods and there was a man and woman naked on a blanket doing it in one of the clearings in the woods. They arrived is different cars and they had "Christian" bumper stickers on their vehicles, too.

When I went to the park, I went there to enjoy the park itself and not for sexual activity in a public place.

Every time that the TPD arrest a man in the park (or even in another part of River Parks), they make sure that no witnesses around so the vice cops won't be seen in the act of soliciting for sexual activity with the man. If the man accepts their advances or the cruise actions, they arrest him.

They tried to entrap me one time in the restroom at 19th & Riverside one time and I ignored them. I didn't know they were cops until about 30 minutes later when they had arrested a man who was married to a woman.

They didn't like it because I found out they were cops.
