No mercy for a drunk irresponsible drunk who takes the life of another driver. My personal feelings are Louisiana's DWI laws are too weak. There is no way sombody should EVER get charged with a third offense DWI.

THIS WAS MY FIANCE'. WE JUST HAD GOT OUR OWN HOME AND WERE STARTING OUR LIVES TOGETHER. THE MAN THAT DONE THIS IS FREE AND RUNNING THE STREETS AGAIN. WE ARE FIGHTING TO HAVE HIM PUT IN JAIL, BUT THE WAY THINGS ARE HANDLED HERE ARE APPARENTLY TAKING LONGER THAT EXPECTED. THIS MAN IS A VERY BAD PERSON. RANDY WAS TAKEN FROM ME, BECAUSE OF THIS MAN'S MISTAKE. AND BY THE WAY THIS MAN WAS HIS BIOLOGICAL FATHER....WHAT FATHER PUTS THEIR OLDEST SON IN THE CAR WITH THEM AFTER BEEN DRINKING AND THEN DRIVES 120MPHS DOWN THE HWY? THINK ABOUT IT. LIFE ISN'T FAIR WHEN THE PERSON WHO KILLED MY WORLD IS LIVING FREE WITH NO WORRIES. I CAN'T GO INTO DETAILS ABOUT THIS MAN, BUT I CAN SAY THAT HE IS A VERY COLD HEARTED PERSON ESPECIALLY AFTER TRYING TO CLAIM THAT RANDY WAS DRIVING WHEN THE STATE TROOPER ARRIVED JUST TO TRY TO KEEP HIMSELF OUT OF PRISON BECAUSE OF HIS MILE LONG RECORD! RAPIDES PARISH CAN WE PLEASE GET SOME JUSTICE...HOW MANY MORE PEOPLE HAVE TO DIE BEFORE SOMETHING IS DONE?! IS IT THAT HARD TO FIGURE OUT THAT THIS MAN IS GUILTY AS CHARGED AS WELL AS GUILTY FOR HIS PAST CHARGES! FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE YOU ARE GIVING HIM PLENTY OF TIME TO FLEE THE STATE...AND YES WE HAVE HEARD THIS IS HIS PLANS!

I'm the fiance of the man who was driving. He is in jail and pled guilty. We were living in pitkin, Randy was staying with us working with his daddy to pay back a loan of $100.00.(a loan that covered Lacey's pharm tech liscence-they didn't have the money because of a drug deal they got screwed on.) they were no longer living together, HIS--Not their place didn't even have electricity anymore. I feel really sorry for what happened, but I feel mostly sorry for Richard, he has to live with what happened for the rest of his life. No jail sentance can ever punish him like he punishes himself. Anyway father and son were working on painting a truck, drinking beers, ran out of tape and sandpaper went for supplies and wrecked. They weren't out "joy riding" drinking and such, they were in an unfamilar car going too fast and lost control. I'm sorry this happened. Neither were wearing seatbelts and the airbags did not deploy. These are other factors in Randy's death, and the condition of Hwy 113 is also in question. In fact I have a letter from an attorny stating that fault may lie with the state.
