Fireworks should ALL be banned in light of the current fire picture. I am fed up with the greed and lack of concern on the part of County Administrators that allow these fire incindiary devices to be hawked year after year.

Chuzzy and Tooch love the fireworks. We both love the nighttime and we look forward to the fireworks show every year. We hope the fireworks will be better than ever this year. We have been watching the beautiful sunset in the evening while I have a couple of cigarettes to enhance the experience. That's the way it works with Tooch and I we both love to make the experience one to remember. We hope everybody in Lake County will go to see the fireworks show so we can get back to work. We like to leave the front porch light on so people will think were home. It's also good to put some music on and leave a few snacks out.

I completely agree. I think the counties should be held responsible for any fires starting from fireworks. Idiots.

Looking forward to the fireworks display as always. Wth the fire dangers as they are I would really like to see retail fireworks banned from the county. Just isn't worth taking the risks that come with that.

I'm a Lake County resident and look forward to the firework displays that are put on every year. The county does a great job BUT I think it is time to ban all retail fireworks due to what is currently happening with all the fires and to continue to ban them. This time of year our hills are so dry anyway, along with the lightning storms etc., it just makes sense to stay safe and not to chance more fires. I'm sure if the public put a vote on this that most would agree with this.

I think that the booths should be shut down this year....or any year that we're having such a high fire risk. I don't think it's necessarily an increased risk of fire.....but the unnavailability of the allready busy firefighters that could be a problem this year. We'll be home with the sprinklers on hoping our neighbors don't burn down our house.

Just watch, the pro-fireworks people will say, "Hey, fireworks didn't start those fires!" yeah, true, but given the number of fires this year, I don't fire want fireworks to start even ONE fire given the state of seige were under with air quality. This year they s hould be off-limits.

They should just shot glow sticks into the air right people, so boring. While we are at it lets ban electrical storms. Wildfires are suppose to happen its what mother nature intended. Fire work fires are a result of stupid people with no common sence, which is sadly the majority of lake county residents, aw man we are screwed!

Sigh..........the biggest 4th of July Fireworks fire started last year was by the indians at Robinson Casino! The idiots carved out a 12x12 space in the weeds across hwy 20 from the casino and set the whole neighborhood on fire! Seems to me that asking them curtail this for at least this year would be helpful........wonder if any of the responding departments that got called in to help on that ever got the indians to pay up for the expense that little episode cost! But I have to say it was one interesting sight to drive along there and watch fireworks going off right over the heards of CalFire and they put out the weeds! Wild Sight and only in Lake County!!!!

the local fire department had NO say in what happened last year, they just responded. They were not allowed to advise, remember diduknow, Robinson is a sovereign nation! and this year...the local fire departments are otherwise engaged........so what eggggsactly do you think is gonna happen if they do this again??

Parents supervise your kids.
Follow all safety procedures.
Quit flicking your flipping LIT smokes out your
vehicles windows.
Do not park your vehicles over long dry grass, etc. your catalytic converter WILL light it on fire.
Do not toss and break bottles into the brush as the glass may act as a magnifier causing combustion.
Assure your offroad vehicles are equipped with a spark arrester.
Clear a fire stop around your property.
If you do use safe and sane fireworks at home keep a water hose available.
etc., etc. just use common sense. Report the morons who are being unsafe.
Most of the city firework displays are located and fired over the lake.
With the smoke this year unless you are 100yds away or less from the displays you will not be able to see them anyway.

Just remember Smokey The Bear. Be fire safe.

So , some of you are saying, Clearlake has allowed Fireworks stands again?! What a trip! I remember not long ago when it was illegal, and 1 light of a firecracker would surely bring CPD to your door. Where i am now , all the stands (huge tents actually) opened a week ago, and everyone is doing fireworks every night now as it is, and the 4th will be that much more. I still have 2 big ziplocks full of bottlerockets from 2 years ago - got bored and couldn't finish em' all, lol! Where i'm at now , the land / grass stays green all the way up through December (downside is i mow 2 acres into the winter..), so we can have fireworks. Jeez! i remember out there, it's dry brown by what , June? LOL!
