has anybody even bothered to wonder why water costs money when nature provides all the water we need?

Lets compare the facts.
1. Bottle of water-$1.00
2. Gallon of gas-$3.00
3. GALLON of water in Glendora (pre-"hike") 0.0036cents. Yes, thats 3-THOUSANDTHS of one penny.

And how is it that the most abundant resource on the planet is NOT "free?" Well, I personally dont have the time to go to the mountains (or to the Colorado River for that matter) and gather my own fresh water, and then transport it back to my home in Glendora. Since I can't do that, I am more that happy to spend LESS THAN A PENNY for a gallon of water.

So, before we gripe about the unimaginable "tax hike" imposed upon us, let us remember that per volume, this has got to be the CHEAPEST thing on the planet!

A valid point is worth repeating: 1 gallon = less than one cent

(and to head off any earthshaking revelations-- yes, I am Lucky Ace, new name)

That was the point brought up by Councilman Murabito on Tuesday. Even with the tax hike cost of water is still less than 1/2 cent per gallon.

Maybe we should consider more how we use our water than how much we are paying for it.

It wasn't until he mentioned he would like to see on our water bills the total number of gallons used in a period, that I went back and looked at my water bills.

I am so use to seeing our household pay for 60 to 65 units of water that it never clicked that we were actually using close to 50,000 gallons of water.

Your only aloted 33,660 gallons or 45 units per each bi-monthly water billing periods.

Then take the 10% in to account your really using way to much and your fine is $50,000.00 dollars for being a wasteful person.

Pay at the next window!

Get your ration booklet ready and take another 10% off the the amount you are saving in Glendora, California 91741 - 91740.

Beyond the bond package, the legislation also requires a 20 percent reduction in water use statewide by 2020, establishes a new council to manage the delta, and changes rules regarding ground water monitoring.

Though it does not explicitly authorize the construction of a controversial canal around the imperiled bay delta, it creates the path for the canal's construction if certain environmental standards are met.
