Congratulations Mark. You deserve credit for all of your hard work. I'm sure the selfish naysayers will have their say, but history has shown that those who work to preserve our history are on the right side. Thank you.

People who defend the Constitution are not selfish naysayers. People who pursue their goals at taxpayer expense are, and it is exactly what Platts & company did. If they were truly committed to preservation, they would have bought the sites with their own money and preserved them. The people of York county voted their consciences rather than their pocketbooks, and I'm proud of them.

Amen to that! There are three types of people in this country. The producers, the looters and the moochers. Platts is one of the looters.

You were right on Ron. The negatoids can't help themselves. But great work Mr. Platts. Anybody with an ounce of good old York County common sense knows that preserving the lands along the river is a good thing to do, and the Indian sites are at the top of the list. Thanks to YDR too for recognizing this good work!

The con men will continue to be angry that their con of York County was exposed. The voters were sold a bill of goods. Truth will eventually prevail. Thanks to Platts and company for being brave enought to fight the good fight. At least some of the land was saved and the con men were forced to work very hard for their partial victory.

Hmmm, let's see, I doubt that vulgar posters like this are thumping any Bibles, except maybe into the ground, and it was a crazy jury and the current County Commissioners who decided to stick it to us taxpayers with their obscene payoffs to the Kohrs and that rich Lancaster developer, and helping make a park for all of us to enjoy is hardly self-centered, but hey, who cares about facts or common sense when one can rant till the cows come home on these unmonitored blogs and get away with anything. Reminds me of Junior High study hall when the teacher stepped out of the room. Except that we're not in Junior High anymore, except maybe for Thumper III. Good grief, grow up!

Thank you YDR for removing Thumper's vulgar posting. Happy to see that there is a study monitor after all.

White roses for Mark Platts makes even less sense than a Nobel Peace Prize for Barack Obama!

Sad and pathetic,----but that's the world in which we live.

Only a silly, lonely old women like yourself would beleive that investing in a project that ultimatly cost the taxpayers of York County 70 million dollars deserves praise from a newspaper that has working for it in it's political and editorial staff the brother in law of the person who got the accolade but in reality screwed us out of millions of dollars. That kind of attitude is for junior high where the girl likes the boy because he's cute but really doesn't have a clue about life. You my dear women haven't the slightest idea about reality and taxes probably because living in section 8 housing and collecting welfare never has given you the oppurtunity to pay taxes and have a real concern for those that do, especially those on a fixed income. You my deear are pathetic at best and sorry at worst. God bless you and your twisted and distorted mind.

I have yet to see any of the Liars (LYHR) people step forward and offer to donate their money to this "worthy" cause. They have been nothing short of strong arming the public from the get go and I praise the jury for doing the job they were tasked to do by awarding a fair sum for the land involved. The supporters of Lori and her lap monkeys should be ashamed that they ever stood up for the thievery that surrounded this park. The hard working taxpayers of York county will bear this burden for many years to come thanks to her.

What the heck are the last two posters talking about? Is there some parallel universe they exist in where down is up and in is out? Seems like they would have been great characters for that Prisoner mini-series that just ended on AMC...if only we could keep them in the Village forever!

Maybe, just maybe if you have any knowledge about the Lauxmont Farm debacle and Platts involvement you could make a more intelligent comment. But since a women of your inability is not able too we should expect nothing but the idiocy you replied with in your post. Give those two brain cells you have a break and take a nap. Night night!

So Thumper's back with more nonsense. And why is it that anyone who proves him/her wrong has to be a woman? Some kind of leftover childhood issues going on perhaps? At least he/she is hiding his/her vulgar ways now - thanks YDR for making him/her clean up his/her act. But he/she has yet to offer any facts that counter my statements above, which countered all of his/her assertions in the post that is no longer on here due to his/her vulgarity. Bottom line with all of this is that Mr. Platts got an award for saving historic and sacred Indian sites from a group who supports saving such sites. Isn't that the way it should be? If you don;t like it, go get the realtors to give an award to the Kohrs for paving over farmland. At least they would be up front about their true motives, like the preservationists are. But honesty and realtors and the Kohrs? Now that's a fantasy!

And you get an award for stealing peoples land? If you want a park so bad, why did the liars (LYHR) pony up their own monewy to buy it? Why do I have to pay for their lack of civic sensibility and lack of respect for private property?

Can I say I want your land for a park because there are birds there and I want to save it for future generations. I can see hypocracy is alvie and well withinn the folds of Lori and her lap monkeys.

I would think by now that the voters of York County had expressed their opinion of the entire issue in the last election. Why can these people not be quiet and go away?

What assertions? The only nonsense you had in your post was some misplaced and ill guided hero worship of Mark Platts who got this 'rose' because his sister is screwing the political/editiorial reporter for the YDR. Of course I don't like the FACT that Platts, Mitrick, Kilogre with their RECKLESS and self centered descion(the vast majority of York countians opposed) to take over land to create an illusion of a park that eventually cost the taxpayers 70 million dollars. Unlike you who worships an individual and an idealogue rather than the pragmatic and practical I am able to understand the burden 70 million dollars puts on the people of York County.
It is the 'preservationists ' who have yet to put up their own money but rather go against the wishes of the majority of York voters. May I suggest with your next welfare check to take a moment to appreciate all who worked hard to give it to you and how an increase of 70 million dollars affects the real citizens of York County who pay taxes. For a women who lives off the backs of others and hero worships the Platts family (maybe mommy Platts will make you some fudge0 you surly are one of the dumber ones!

I see Mr. Bible is still stuck in The Village, and apparently REALLY jealous of the Platts family, who may just be the last group of honest, community-minded folks in York County. Maybe Bibleman should take a few lessons from them - or the Bible for that matter - and focus on being a good person, doing good works for others instead of exhibiting his hatred and jealousy to the world. I'll say a prayer for you.

WOW! Talk about misguided! "The last community minded folks in York"?????? Honey are you ever in never-neverland. This 'family' has cost the taxpayers of York County 70 million dollars in added taxes for a failed land deal. This 'family' has produced a congressman who's only cliam to fame is saving an aisle seat at State of the Unions (don't belive me check his website and see that of all the bills he lists only a couple have even made it to the floor let alone passed). This 'family' has produced a political reporter who could not be more biased in his reporting. In short this 'family' is not the "last community minded family in Yrok', far from it. Therer are many, many more upstanding and productive citizens in this county than the Platts family.
As far as jealous, sorry I would be ashamed that I could cost the taxpayers of York 70 million dollars in extra expense because of a self-centered land preservation idea rejected by the majority. Maybe if we wouldn't have such huge Platts tax burden w York county could afford the 15th judge it so needs. But I suppose you have no comprehension of what this 'family' has cost the people of York in your misguided and perverted hero worship.

You were right on Ronnie. Thumper's continued pathetic attempts to spread lies about the river park project ($70 million? Show me the checks to the Kohrs and the Lancaster guy for $70 million - nonsense!) and tear down the Platts family (since when do conservative York Countians want MORE bills laws passed by Congress?) only further exposes his vulgarity and oh-so-obvious jealously of those who actually work to make York County a better place.

And of course after his earlier obscene posts were removed by YDR he has yet to provide any real response to the facts I presented to refute his lies: 1)It was a crazy jury and the current County Commissioners who decided to stick it to us taxpayers with their obscene payoffs to the Kohrs and that rich Lancaster developer, so how is that Mark Platts' fault? and 2) helping make a park for all of us to enjoy is hardly self-centered, so what's Mr. Platts' big gain from it? Maybe Mr. Platts just likes being a good citizen, like the rest of his family, something thumper knows little about.

And Ronnie, I think your prayers for Thumper won't help much - Thumper's obscenity and hate filled mind won't be opening the doors of Heaven for him, know matter how much he thumps the bible!

How much more delusional can aperson be than a pathetic and boorish women like yourself become? You obviuosly live in some kind of hero worship world where the facts totally cloud any semblence of judgement you may have or had in your lifetime.
First off there is more to elected and public office than 'just being a good citizen'. How naive. Those [persons are to represnet the people and their wants and in the case of Lauxmont et all the vast majority of York countians wanted nothing to do with it once the eminent domain issue became reality.(Don't beleive me check the YDR polls and the reporting your beloved Rick Lee did). This 'preservation' was nothing more than the self centered idealogy of a few who claimed to represent the whole. In the end it cost the taxpayers 70 million dollars that now needs to be paid in higher taxes.
As to effective legislation, it does involve having bills of sustinance passed. In the case of Platts there has been none to speak of. And if you think bills are not important to being a good rep then why does your hero Platts website have list after list of bills he proposed but never go anywhere? Kind of blows your worn theory out of the water.
It seems people of your type have a tendency to overlook the facts and cover up for their uinadequacies by hero worshipping and thinking 'just a good citizen' is all it takes to make an effective public servant. Unfortuantly in the cas eof the Platts family it takes some cowardice to be effective in DC, a self centered land agenda and a reporter from the local paper who sleeps with their sister in order to be effcetive in your pathetic and misinformed eyes. maybe someday you will wake up and see what the Platts are all about, and why would we continue to vote for Platts next time since he seems to be looking for another job at GAO instead of having his heart in the distrcit? Explain that one madam.

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Leo

If you ask someone to give you a hand today, don't be surprised if they make a mess of it. That's probably because their mind isn't on the job, but it might also be because your instructions aren't as clear as usual. So before you get angry, check that what you said made sense. Relations with someone older or more influential than you could also be blighted by confusion or doubt now.
