Romney's campaign has been a bumbling, amateurish effort, undermined even further by an unlikeable, stammering, candidate who can't articulate why he should be President.
Seeing it laid out, day by day, really drives that fact home.

Rough Polling Day for Romney
Fox just released a new presidential poll showing President Obama leading Mitt Romney by 9 points. That’s the second poll today and the third in the last two days. The other two (from CNN and Ipsos/Reuters) both had Romney down by 7.
Worth noting that beside PPP, which releases a weekly poll, this is the first big batch of stand alone national presidential polls since mid-July. And a lot has happened since then: the big Obama push on offshore accounts, the foreign trip, the rock-em-sock-em robots with Harry Reid.
----------
Also, this from Nate Silver:
"In the Real Clear Politics average of national polls, Mr. Obama’s lead grew to 4.4 percentage points on Thursday. That’s his largest lead by its method since early April, when Mitt Romney was just starting to recover from a rough stretch in the primary campaign."
----------
Polling fluctuates, but the more Americans get to know Mitt Romney, the less they like him.
His poll numbers sucked during the primary debates because people saw him on a regular basis and learned to dislike him.
He got a bump after the primary season, but as he's been more in the public eye, people are remembering how much they dislike him.
He will certainly get another bump going into the GOP convention in two weeks - and the wingnuts will crow.
But the Democratic convention follows the following week and will certainly erase those gains.
Then comes debate season when America will see Romney close up. Expect his poll numbers to fall through the floor then.
Everything that's happened so far has been predictable. People don't like Mitt Romney - not even Republicans. And the more they see him, the less they like him.
He will certainly lose to Obama in November, probably by a landslide. LOL!

Here's hoping it's all downhill from here! The voters of this country need to wake up and see what a spinless, unethical, arrogant, dimwit they have in Mitt and then they need to get educated and vote for Obama. They also need to get rid of the teaparty jerks in the House that are holding this country hostage, and to make sure that Harry Reid has enough votes to overtake the obstructionist Mitch McConnell and his arrogrant crew, and get something done for this country and for US - the people of the United States

What he didn't say is as important as what he did. "I paid lots of taxes...." He didn't say "I paid lots of income taxes." So...yeah, he owns a bunch of expensive homes and probably paid property taxes...because the rich haven't figured out a loophole for that yet. He purchased gas and food and clothes and stuff, and likely paid sales taxes on that...since the rich haven't figured out a loophole for that yet. He also probably paid some other "taxes" on vehicle registrations and the like, and maybe some excise taxes on things like tires.OH! And the 10 horse saddles he purchased in 2010. That's right 10 saddles,if you cant drive 2 cadillacs at a time how many horses can you ride at a time?

He never addressed the question of whether or not he paid any income taxes. Want to bet on why?

Chuck Todd tweeted that this is Obama’s idea of a “morning in America” ad.

That would be a neat trick, considering that Reagan’s ad referred to the need to shake off the malaise and fatalism of the Jimmy Carter presidency, and Obama’s selling that exact same malaise.

There are fewer jobs in the US now than when Obama took office — no, really — and Obama’s trying to sell this as The New Normal.

That’s exactly what Carter tried to sell in 1980, and history showed how well permanent stagnation sells.

On top of that, he’s still whining about having “inherited” the 2009 economy, when

(a) he ran for the office without anyone twisting his arm, and

(b) wasn’t there a guy named Barack Obama in the Senate in January 2007?

The omission of ObamaCare and Dodd-Frank shows how difficult this election will be for Obama.

Those are his only two legislative accomplishments, and they’re so toxic that he can’t even include them in his swing-state ads.

Small wonder Team Obama wants to talk about Swiss bank accounts and Seamus The Roof-Ridin’ Dog.

Romney does not have a compelling message, that's his problem. I wish the press would stop buying into that crap. His own party crashed the economy, his own party are the ones who have been obstructing any effort to help its recovery, and along comes Mittens with the same economic policy as Bush that did so much damage the last time and spurred so little growth (1.1 million jobs over Bush's 8 years) that he wants to implement. That is not a compelling story unless the media loves a good Greek tragedy.

Romney didn't just borrow money for companies that he acquired because they were in trouble and were available at fire-sale prices, but he borrowed from the federal government at very attractiuve terms, for the purpose of saving those companies. The cash was used to bolster the stock prices, after which Romney (Bain Capital) would bail out. His father led American Motors to it's demise and was an appropriate adviser to his son on what government help is available for troubled companies.

Think about what will happen if Romney loses.

Most people expect the economy to get better, no matter what happens. If by luck, the fundies sour on Romney, and they might, the down ticket contests, as well as the Presidential might turn in the Democrats favor. A new Democratic majority might be able to get an infrastructure bill and debt relief through congress. By 2016, the economy could have added another 10 million jobs.

That means in 2016, movement conservative Republicans will have only Bush II, Bush I and Reagan to point to for their track records, and by 2016, 1980's will be ancient history for most voters. Imagine a situation where Dems can point to an Obama Presidency that stopped an economic catastrophe, then added 15 million private sector jobs, and a Clinton Presidency that ...balanced the budget and added 20 million jobs. In between you have Bush who created ZERO net jobs for those 8 years, economic meltdown, massive debts.

So in 2016 they'll have to point to Bush I, but he raised taxes and added very few jobs. So then they are stuck with Reagan, who's inaugeration was in 1980, 36 years ago. That might as well point at Eisenhower or Nixon, but they were liberals compared to Obama, let alone today's Republicans. Meanwhile America's demographic evolution will be plugging along.

So that's why I think they Romney's bagging massive amounts of money, even though he's probably a loser of a candidate.

No one can predict the future, but a bad night on November 6th could be overwhelmingly devastating for the movement conservative/republican brands.

Dem convention strategy:

Find Republicans to talk about anything but the economy and jobs

Politico apparently got a leak from the DNC or the Obama campaign that may end up backfiring on the Democrats.

Three weeks out from their convention, Mike Allen reports that Barack Obama and the Democrats will feature regular-folks speakers to talk about how great Obama’s policies have been, which isn’t exactly a new phenomenon.

The twist?

They’ll be Republicans:

Romney does not have a compelling message. He offers up nothing, but negative attacks. He thinks that is going to do it for him. Romney will destroy Social Security and Medicare. He supports the Paul Ryan budget plan that will do just that. When I mention this to folks just getting into their 50s they are in shock. Turning 50 will do that to you. You've worked your whole adult life and now these rich bastards want to take it all away. After the tanking of the stock market since 9/11 forward, how the hell do they expect folks to live?

Fool Me Twice:

Obama's Shocking Plans for the Next Four Years Exposed

Here are just a few samples from dozens upon dozens of specific schemes unveiled herein:

Detailed plans to enact single-payer health care legislation controlled by the Federal government regardless of any Supreme Court decision to overturn Obamacare;

The recreation of a 21st century version of FDR's Works Progress Administration (WPA) program within the Department of Labor that would oversee a massive new bureaucracy and millions of new Federal jobs;

Further gutting of the U.S. military in shocking ways, while using the "savings" for a new "green" stimulus program and the founding of a Federal "green" bank to fund so-called environmentally friendly projects;

The vastly reduced resources of the U.S. Armed Forces will be spread even thinner by using them to combat "global warming," fight global poverty, remedy "injustice," bolster the United Nations and step up use of "peacekeeping" deployments;

An expansive new amnesty program for illegal aliens linked with a reduction in the capabilities of the U.S. Border Patrol and plans to bring in untold numbers of new immigrants with the removal of caps on H-1B visas and green cards.

What's Bain's contribution to humanity? That is the true measure of any organization - not profit. go ask Apple, and they will tell you that they are creating "Bicycles for the mind". Ask Cargill and they'll tell you they get "food to the world". Ask St. Jude and they'll tell you about "saving and improving the quality of lives". Bain has a saying: "Transforming your job into my pocket change - you lose your house, I gain a yacht" No wonder they don't want their game exposed. it's not good for them when the rest of us is aware of it. I think the President Should continue exposing Romney's resume and increasing our knowledge about how they devalue human beings while worshiping the dollar.

LASER-LIKE FOCUS:

OBAMA‘S JOBS COUNCIL HASN’T MET IN SIX MONTHS

Hey, remember all those times we were told President Obama was focused like a laser (or something) on jobs?

Yeah, we remember that too.

Say, it must be awfully difficult to address the nation’s unemployment when, you know, your jobs council hasn’t met in six months.

Yes, you read that correctly:

the president‘s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness hasn’t met since January 17.

“Coming off the worst quarter of job-creation in two years, and with the worst jobs record of any president in modern history, it’s clear President Obama has failed to live up to his promises,” said Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s campaign spokeswoman Andrea Saul.

With unemployment at 8.2 percent (and real unemployment much worse than that), some may think it rather odd that the president can find time to do back-to-back-to-back-to-back fundraisers and play his 100th round of golf but not find time to meet with this jobs panel.

Or a situation may seem quite clear-cut right now but forthcoming events will reveal that things are very different under the surface.
