The Question is, The books for FP are free public info, anyone of us could have requested the budget and found this out themselves. WE ARE ALL TO BLAME.

Everyone keeps saying that Pedersen had to know what he was getting into, I think it would have been a surprise to Pritchett as well. People are hired to do a job and if the controller and audit company fixed records while spending money to purchase buildings, fund the underpass etc. they did a huge misjustice to the village by relocating funds earmarked for other areas. These people were not thieves, just business people trying to get a job done and they used poor judgement. Now it's dumped on Pedersen, give him time to fix it.

How can the trustees sign off on the books without checking them before they sign them ? They failed in their duties and also failed all the citizens of Franklin Park. Someone should be prosecuted. I should have voted for Ben. Ben would have been all over this.

the whole thing stinks, those who were involved are still on the board pointing fingers at everyone else. This is not the crime of the century, although the cover up by the current board coulod be. Where were these people over the past several years when they voted on these spendings. Prichett mismanaged money, but the only reason he got away with it is because he was allowed by 4 of the current 6 members of the board to get away with it. where was the shoick and outrage then? How hard is pedersen looking into their involvement? they should all resign in shame.

We need to get all the old players to answer where the money went,what they knew and what they tried to do. 8.7 million is a huge amount of money to misplace or lose. Hopefully the person or persons respnsible will be uncovered and justice served. I guess Bernie Madoff thought he would never get caught.

I think the old administration hoped to win the last election and try to get 4 more years to come up with all or some of the money. They lost and the financial problems came to light. How many people knew the real financial problems that we had? Someone has to get to the bottom of this quickly.

This unaccounted money situation is not a one person dilemma. Obviously there has to be many people who knew and know now what was going on..so it is unfair to point at one person only..but the old mayor should be accountable for his staff's irresponsibility or dishonestness.

With all the drama of the announcement at the town hall meeting.. and all the media speculation.. and then all the rumor mongering.. one forgets what exactly was said about this money initially.
