That wasn't a bus diversion - That was abandoning children. That is criminal.

Someone in the city of Bellaire needs to get their priorities straight.
I'm sorry, but getting a school bus load of children home is more important than a stupid movie that could easily waited 5 meesley minutes to let a bus through. Also, I'm not too familiar with the area, but why didn't the driver also look for an alternate route? |

So its a federal offense to impede or interfere with a postal carrier, but shoot a movie and our children get dropped at a shopping mall.
And all they can say is they Dropped the ball? What part of, being responsible for the safe transportation of these children to their homes, do they not understand. |

I've been thinking that our country is really run by Hollywood, not Wshington...

dropped the ball doesnt begin to cover it! since when is gettin a good scene more important then the welfare of a child? im sure the hollywood sect is somewhat informed of child abduction and murder cases, after all a few of them have made pretty big profits off of them, turning an innocent childs horror story into a "movie of the week".....makes you wonder if they intentionally did this, hoping for good fodder for another one

This is irresponsible. Bus driver should be fired.
But what also concerns me is that a 12 year old could not find her way home and was not smart enough to call a responsible adult. What are those parents, or even the school, teaching her? First rule for everyone--beware of your surroundings. Find a safe place and call an adult. I hope all parents of that area make this a learning session for their children....apparently the bus driver doesn't have any common sense. |

I don't think that Hollywood is the problem here. Clearly, the school and transportation are at fault. There are policies in place that keep children from being dropped off at someplace other than their normal stop. Stop blaming other people for the school systems mistake.

If that was one of my kids I would be really ticked off too. What was the school district thinking...with all the child abductions lately in the news...and these people are suppose to be "teaching" our children. They should be very thankful that none of those kids ended up missing or worse. They expect the kids to take responsibility in doing their homework, be good citizens, etc... what a good example they are. The school district and city agencies should have had a plan knowing that the film was going to interfer with "normal" traffic patterns and the time of day the shooting was being done. It's called planning ahead.

Being from this area it's hard to imagine that a 12 year old wouldn't be able to find their way home from anywhere in the town. Last I remeber there was only one are of town that has any kind of shopping centers and its not that large of a stripmall, other than krogers, mcds, and burger king it probably only consists of 3 or 4 other stores and and may i add that these are the only "fast food" resturaunts in town. The whole town was most likely aware of the fliming of the movie and there to see what was going on so nobody was even home to notice that the school buses weren't running. Maybe the children who didn't make it home for so long had to stop and see what was going on too. just find it unbelievable that nobody knew that this was going on. and to add to "huh"s post very much agree this city is minutes away from wheeling, wv which is very well known.

I also forgot to add, that this area of our state must be hard up for attention because along with this there was also the SJP surrogate mother scandal with the police cheif and mayor from 2 of its neighboring cities.

"Dropped the Ball...??!!" All wrapped up in your own little insulated school world...Get in touch with the real world; and stay in touch with your CUSTOMERS - parents and students!! You, and most other school districts have been completely out-of-touch for probably 50 years now...
