Kelly's Pub Provides A New Brew: The Theater

Glad to see Kelly's Pub doing good. I am from
East Hartford a nd we used to have local country bands playing there.

Outstanding! Theater is a great community builder and this 60 something young woman is wonderful "giver". Best wishes for much success!

She is not in her 60"s. Do your reporting accurately. She is 3 years older than her brother who would have been 77 this year. He is my father Stanley Gill Jr. who was the one who worked the bar before and after his service in The marines during the Korean war. If you would like to accurately report the history of the white eagle Restaurant and its transition to today look up some family members that will give you the real story on the history of the "family " owned business. It will be a best seller.

Oh yes Dave! As being a grandchild of Sis, I can tell you that she is telling the same old incorrect stories. With her there is no "family" in business. She is a very selfish and mean person. That is why no one will go help her out with it.

Dave and the grandchild are so right! I am the daughter.Where does the "giving person" come from? How about "using,demanding,devious, and taking!"She stole from her own mother when she was on her deathbed!Being such a good actress maybe she should just join the theater group. The only reason she does all the work is because she has pushed her whole family to the limit with her lies and selfishness.All we ever hear is oh poor me. We have our own NORMAL lives. Hi Dave.

I am SOOO glad to see that some family members of that old bat can see right through her evil ways. Sis uses and abuses anyone and everyone that come in contact with her. She is the spawn of the devil! All she does is speak ill of people. The only people that help her now are people that are just as disgusting and pathetic as she is. Like the old saying goes "Misery LOVES company"!

wow!!! what's going on here? grew up in CT. and on occasion check out to see what's going on in my hometown (Manchester)..came across this...what's the story...not a good sign when several family members call you out...

Kelly's Pub is a joke!!! First of all, there is absolutely NO FOOD there, unless you like to each bags of potatoe chips!!! Also, the place is a complete DUMP and the old lady running it is a witch. Stay as far away from this place as possible. The only patrons that go there now are a bunch of drunks and freaks!

That is what happened when my Dad Kelly passed away. She got complete control and lost her family and their help in the business and otherwise with her selfish and demanding attitude. You don't know even the half of it!!!

Thank you "Former Slave" for verifying what her family has felt for years. Nothing is personal at the bar. that is why she knows nothing of our personal lives.Weddings, graduations, great grand children? SHE WILL NOT KNOW.Her Outback Steakhouse Groupies are her family now and forever. My dad will meet her in heaven at the gates and turn her away. He was the the greatest person-how did he end up with her?He would be proud of his grandchildren!!!

I (sort of) feel bad for the old lady. She has alienated soooo many people in her life that when the day does come,(and it will), and she will no longer be able to run that death trap she will in fact be all alone. No where to go and no one to talk to. Maybe she should start mending her ways now. She HAS burned one too many bridges and has really hurt almost all of the people that did their best and most for her. Even people that helped her and asked for nothing in return got burned somehow. What a shame. She could have had so much more.

Hey Kathy!! We met a few years ago. You are right about people not knowing the half of things with your Mother. She always talked ill of you and your brother and her own Mother behind your backs at the bar. She's vicious!!! Seeing how badly she has done with the place I am absolutely dumbfounded by her demeanor. I even remember that she attended a wedding,(I believe it was of a granddaughter), within the past few years and had only negative things to say after-the-fact. I bet you she was all lovey-lovey while she was a guest. Did she bring a short,baldheaded,middle-aged man as her date?? He seems to be her new "adopted" son; she pushes him around too. This guy actually invites her to holiday functions with his own family because he "feels sorry for her". That bar is such a rumor mill it's disgusting. It's like a soap opera! They should put cameras in there for a new reality TV series!! I also do not understand about the Outback crew. Why would they pick that crappy place to hang instead of the nice places around their own restaurant. For Christ Sakes, they work at the Buckland Hills Mall area! I just visited Kelly's Pub yesterday(10.25.09) to get the tour. A friend of mine had found the diamond in the rough and has visions of helping the venue get back to its roots and bring some life in it again. There aren't many places like that left; our society is overrun by chain restaurants and walmart. If the community can come together and support Kelly's Pub...we could have a real gem to add to Manchester's historical charm. Yes, the owner might be a little stubborn, but her determination to keep it open in honor of her husband is a real "tug on your heart-strings story." She needs gentle persuasion, but Kelly's Pub could be great with a little old fashion, good neighbor team work.

I see that the pub still has the mentally challenged people still hanging out there! Good luck with all that "Community" hogwash!
