Let's restore this valuable property. Utilizing a modern business model, it can be operated profitably, and it could showcase the beginning of the Glassport Comeback.

Great idea! I personally think that the old copperweld should be reopened before the swimming pool though.

Worst idea ever. Especially in this day and age where there is backyard pool or two on every block. There is not enough population in town to sustain a public pool without going deep in the hole.

You' ve got a million dollar property that was given to the boro, a community pool facility completely built, and you can't fathom how to fix the leaks, gets the pumps running and operating profitably. We're not talking about building a first class water theme park here., just maintaining a community pool. The more you allow this community to deteriorate, the quicker the population will decrease. Soon even potential Section 8 residents will find this community undesirable

You've got a pool or two on every block because citizens want a pool, and their community let their pool deteriorate like St Cecilia's. Why does Glassports future have to be bleaker than its past. Have all the visionaries disappeared?

What would people be willing to pay for a Summer 2014 Pool Pass to the newly remodeled Glassport Community Pool opening Memorial Day 2014

Nothing, your pool would be over run with section 8 trash and scum. Take a look around town, would you want to pay money to mingle with them?
You may want to stick to 1 name, Anti social, prejudiced, racist bigots like you may be better served by an inflatable walmart wading pool in your own backyard .

What I'm thinking is that you fix up the old copperweld (for jobs) you would have all good people hired because the section 8'ers and scum aren't going to work (for money hahha).
They will be busy cashing their access money cards and smoking dope.

It appears you've been swimming in your own urine for quite sometime now, Most of us can't figure out why you prefer that to swimming in a large pool of water.........and you call us mentally challenged.

I wonder if section 8 or welfare scum get a discount on a season pass? Wouldn't need much parking since most don't drive anyway. Nice way for them to save $ on water bill too, can just jump in the pool to get their bath for the week. Just imagine how many scumbags would all be confined to one place, the thought of it makes me sick.

Good idea but with the pool in its current state, it would take years to start seeing a profit. I can imagine the total costs to repair the current structure.. bet it would be more then starting on a fresh plot of land.

I don't think the pool ever made a profit! Even when the town was booming. It would just be a money pit for the benefit of the freeloaders. Level it and put a nice doggie park up there.

You should have stopped at 3 words. "I don't think", because you DON'T think. Toxic minds like yours have poisoned the Mon Valley. The pool was profitable when the the town was booming, and this community can boom again. Your doggie park suggestion WOULD be "a money pit for the benefit of freeloaders",(like yourself)

If you" re not part of the solution, you" re part of the problem.

Stay clear Bob, GLASSPORTS's COMIMG BACK!!! Like it or not.

There is no coming back. The town has no valuable land, 120 year old buildings, outdated infrastructure, and is a catch all for dope fiends and financially deprived black families that are here to stay. Please give me one good niche that glassport has going for it.
you are absolutely right. here is nothing. the town is now infested. just ride around main street and ohio in the morning. then ride the same two roads at 8 in the evening. its infested everyday at all times now. the infestation i am referring to has nothing to do with color, but people of trouble. open the pool and you'll have them up there. the good people of this town have moved out and the last remnants of them will never go to the reopened pool. also, i do remember when the pool was open that it was actually losing money. and that was for quite a few years. so it was a money-losing proposition and there is no bit of evidence to suggest it would ever turn a profit, let alone break even. those days ended in the 1980's. that would be a couple decades ago.

This guys got the Glassport Spirit. A visionary. Glass half-full mentality.

Why do so many pessimists, negative thinking, naysayers remain?

You' re part of the problem until you become part of the solution.

QUiIT BLOCKING PROGRESS!!!
