Just yesterday my husband and I saw several young people riding ATV's. We discussed how much fun it looked like but way too dangerous for us to ever permit our kids to ride one. How sad for everyone involved.

first of all, you won't get any words of sympathy here. why any parent would let their CHILDREN on those potentially dangerous ATV's is beyond me. were the kids supervised by an adult? did the car driver have a permit, and was she obeying the law? kids out at that time of night is never a good thing.

Why were 3 children crossing a major highway at 10:30 at night. My heart goes out to the families, but the poor driver is the victum. that person has to live with this, Even the most experinceced driver could not have avoided that accident on that bend in the road. Why would parents let children take an ATV out at that time of night.

none of us were there when the accident occured. The only people who actually no what happened are the four kids and the driver. How do you no that the parents even knew the kids where on the ATV's, how do you no that the driver wasn't speeding, we don't no who is at fault only they do, so before you pass your judgement and give your two sense think about the familys involved and how much pain they are going through.

Quads should not be out at night, they are made for 2 people not 3,and not for anyone under 16.

i live a mile and a half from from that intersection on 73. it is an extremely dangerous section of the highway with lots of curves. i dont see how, even if registered, that the atv could cross the highway at 11:00 pm and that the drivers of the atv were children.
its sad that this happened

This is a tragic loss. I knew this young girl, I was a classmate of hers and she was just a bright, funny and very pretty girl who has left way before her time! This is a sin!

To those who are criticizing her for going out onto Route 73 at 10:30 at night, do you think she knows better? She was just a teenager! We may not always know what is best.

RIP, you went way too early and we are all thinking of you!

You know just because you want to blame someone for this accident , doesnt mean you shouldnt have sympathy grow a heart dude , or at least invite the rest of us into your perfect world.because I am sure you do everything right at all times

this state is full of it because they are illegal to ride in this state so if it were legal to ride one with registration then why do they chase these things all over the place if they are not legal then STOP SELLING THEM IN THIS STATE!!!!!!!!! or make it leagl to ride them

My boyfriend is the brother of the 13 year old girl who lost her life. They were all good kids just made a mistake. Like someone else mentioned the girl couldve been speeding or drunk or on drugs. That girl had so much going for her and now it all got destroyed by an ATV accident. I hope the other make alright.

No 13 year old should be out at 10:30 p.m. Where are her parents? for those of you who said she made a mistake, yes she did, a deadly one and her parents didn't protect her.

well I was on the scene and stayed with the driver who was extremely distraught. yeah, she was 17 and young but no drugs or alcohol. the atv ran through the red light. what a tragedy for all.

i know that stretch of highway pretty well. i truly wonder if the parents knew that the kids were crossing atv's there. rt 73 is dangerous in a car traveling on the highway. i would not want to cross it without the benefit of a stop light!

No sympathy from me. Children should not be out and about at these hours, without an adult with them. Parents of children are responsible for their childrens actions and need to pay the consequences.
