They will be coming soon. So will Target. This makes me so happy. More choices needed here in Glasgow.

I heard an off-shoot of a Kroger grocery will be locating at the old Winn-Dixie store. I guess an "almost like a Kroger grocery store" is better than nothing. I would go to Houchen's if they weren't so high on their prices but Walmart is really the only choice for now. Target will never locate here. That is a wasted wish.

I gota have some proof before I believe this. I have lived here for 12 years now and I must of heard this 12 times. I wish Kroger was coming, But without some kind of proof its just not gonna happen.

There has been another thread on here that says a Kroger owned 'Rulers Foods" will be in 1/2 of the Winn Dixie Building. A couple of people commented in that one that it is true.
For you eugeneshiz. For several years Kroger tries to come here, but Houchens buys them out.

No Kroger is not coming. Do not believe this b.s. The old winn dixie is going to be a discount grocery chain. For a fact.

The Ruler Foods store: parent company JayC Food Stores, a Seymour, Ind.-based subsidiary of supermarket giant Kroger Co. Paul Bowen, division president of JayC, a 149-year-old grocery company that was acquired by Kroger in 1999. Bowen said Ruler Foods strives to have the “best prices” in a market;
“We’re a limited or edited assortment store,” he said.“We usually have one or two choices of an item instead of a dozen. They’re usually Kroger-brand products.”
Indeed, the store’s shelves are dominated by Kroger- and Kroger Value-branded foods, although some national brand-name items appear on shelves. The grocery has meat, produce and frozen food departments.

I copied and pasted the above from the internet. So a real Kroger store isn't coming. Another discount grocery like Save a Lot but this one will have Kroger brand products. This won't be the Kroger store like in Bg and the discounts we see in Kroger. Once again Houchens has kept a real Kroger out.

houchens has kept a lot of stores out of glasgow. they have bought all the jr foods, minit marts, shell stations. they are the ones that keep gouging the gas prices in glasgow. if they can run out places like marathon and swifty they will control all the gas in glasgow. everyone thinks houchens mkt is a god to glasgow. they have already brought out 1 factory in glasgow and moved it to bowling green. all their offices are in bowling green. i know of one subdivison in glasgow that houchens industries built 2 houses and every bit of material was delivered from bowling green and all the workers was from there also. when they were finished no one in glasgow sold anything and no one in glasgow had a job on the construction. every time you buy gas or groceries in glasgow the money goes to bowling green. buy your gas from marathon, swifty or wal mart. houchens markets does not give a rats ass about the people in glasgow.

Houchens don't own all the Minit Marts...Some guy named Fred in BG owns them. I will say this though....Whatever Houchens gets involved in, There will be one sure thing happen....the price will go up.

Sounds kind of stupid for me to go into Houchens when I just need a few items then. I should go on to Walmart no matter what I need. It is no wonder Houchens/IGA have done all their remodeling.
Makes no sense that Houchens are not all for Glasgow, and want to see us do well. Can someone explain that? What am I missing?

better Bowling Green than China.
as for Kroger,better quality meats & produce than either Houchens' or Wally World and if you use a Kroger card it's actually cheaper.

even Glasgow doesn't care about Glasgow.that's evident by so many comments on here,especially the restaurant threads.
