Edmonton Kentucky Republican Don Butler tells voters in the state's 9th Senate district he will never follow the crowd in Frankfort in voting to raise taxes. On Thursday, he put that promise in writing.

Butler signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge sponsored by Americans for Tax Reform (ATR), committing to "oppose and vote against any and all tax increases." So far, only four other state Senate Republicans have signed the ATR pledge. Butler's opponent in the May 22 Republican primary is not one of them.

"Most people don't realize what Frankfort has done to us in the last four years in terms of overspending and debt," Butler said. "The new legislators going up there next year will be under great pressure to raise taxes on Kentuckians and they just have to know that I won't be supporting that."

According to Kentucky's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, state government in the last year has increased General Fund debt by $1 billion. Earlier this week, a federal whistleblower on the Board of Trustees of the Kentucky Retirement Systems said the state pension system will run out of money within three years, costing $600 million a year. Butler said the state's fiscal problems will only be fixed by cutting spending.

"In the last four years we have had enough overspending and tax increases to last us several lifetimes," Butler said. "We can't afford anymore to elect or keep politicians who buy our votes with our own money and pretend that everything will just work out fine."

Butler aint got a chance. He's a joke from an era of politics that won't sell anymore. When you're desperate you distort the opponents record and think the public isnt smart enogh to know what youre doing.

Donnie Butler owned the land where the current courthouse in Edmonton is and was paid an OUTRAGEOUS amount for it. If you don't believe me do your homework. I believe he was the JE at that time. Needless to say, that was his last term in office.

Who cares what piece of worthless paper he signed. That's about like Obama symbolically saying he supports gay marriage just to get some votes. Obama and the democrats will get us all with the tax hikes and those hikes will affect us all one way or another in the long run. Butler knows his gimmick of signing that worthless piece of paper means nothing when the big boys tax the hell out of us. He just wants some votes. He sounds like an Obama clone to me. He is using Obama's tricks so I will never vote for him. Ever!

Well, if you sign a pact other than the Oath you have taken to represent ALL of your constituents, then you are siding with those intent on turning everything to the private sector and letting the poor die with no help. If you signed Grover's pledge, you'll NEVER get a vote from me. You obviously have more allegience to him/it than the Constitution.

Based on the facts of his record as Judge Executive of Metcalfe Co. there is NO WAY I would vote for him in this or any election.

This "truth" is coming from someone who claimed a old run down barn that he owned and was unfortunately burned was worth $250,000. One question if you had a piece of property worth $250,000 would you insure it? Of course you would. It was a shame that the adjusted lowered that worth to a mere $60,000. I just find that funny. Definately wouldn't vote for this liar.

Butler got 24% of the vote. Looks like everyone saw right through the "David Williams" propoganda... Got what he deserved.

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Gemini

Today's Full Moon, a Lunar Eclipse, will have a big impact on your relationships during the next few months, so stand by. If the cracks have been starting to show in a partnership, this could be when they turn into major fault lines that demand action. Can they be repaired or do they spell the end of the line? It may feel like a crisis but that doesn't mean it really is one, so don't over-react.
