Feds visit BCSO

GLASGOW — The Barren County Sheriff’s Office received an unexpected visit from federal agents on Thursday who came equipped with a search warrant, according to officials and attorneys.

Sheriff Chris Eaton and public information officer Trevor Phillips confirmed that federal agents had come to both the BCSO and Phillips’ home Thursday morning.

Neither commented further on the visits. Eaton referred other questions to his attorney, J. Guthrie True, and Phillips said he was in the process of obtaining an attorney.

True said he was looking into harassment or other action that could be taken in the matter and said he was aware a search warrant was involved in the visit.

“From what I’ve heard they were looking for photographs that may have been taken of Mr.[Billy Randall] Stinnett,” True said.“I have no idea why they think there would be more photographs.”

Stinnett is the subject of the deprivation of rights case against Eaton and deputies Aaron Bennett and Eric Guffey, who are alleged to have used excessive force on Stinnett after he was arrested in February 2010, and also alleged to have falsified documents and lied to federal investigators about the case.

The FBI comes knocking on your door with a search warrant and Eaton calls it harassment. This from a man accused of beating somebody while they're handcuffed. Now, that's what I call harassment. Only in Glasgow.

If they're trying to charge the feds with harassment, then any time the cops come into someone's house to search it, then I guess they'd be subject to harassment charges also.... NOT!

I can not believe they are considering this one visit from he FBI with a search warrant harassment. That is a joke! I have being harassed by an individual for a month now EVERY DAY, I have called BCSD several times, they come to my house treat me like I'm an idiot and tell me they can't do anything unless I obtain an EPO. Then upon going to the county attorneys office, who sent me to the court house who tried to send me back to the county attorney, I am told unless I am physically assaulted I can't get an EPO. LMAO They have no clue how it feels to REALLY be harassed, and if it is happening to you, they don't give a dam!

Grasping at straws with the harassment claim. They can't bail water out of their sinking boat as fast as they fill it up!
