'Fox News Sunday' to Host Kentucky Senate Debate

With all that is going in Washington these days some things don’t make the news the way they should. Fourteen days ago President Obama issued an Executive Order that you should know about. This order gives an unprecedented level of authority to the President and the federal government to take over all the fundamental parts of our economy - in the name of national security - in times of national emergency.

This means all of our water resources, construction services and materials (steel, concrete, etc.), our civil transportation system, food and health resources, our energy supplies including oil and natural gas – even farm equipment – can be taken over by the President and his cabinet secretaries. The Government can also draft U.S. citizens into the military and force U.S. citizens to fulfill "labor requirements" for the purposes of "national defense." There is not even any Congressional oversight, only briefings are required.

By issuing this as an Executive Order the President puts the federal government above the law, which, in a democracy, is never supposed to happen.

As President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, he has the Constitutional authority to issue executive orders. And while similar orders have been made before by presidents from Eisenhower and Reagan to Clinton and George Bush – it has never been done to this extent.

It is still unclear why this order was signed now, and what the consequences are for our nation – especially during times of peace. This type of Martial Law imposes a government takeover on U.S. citizens that is typically reserved for national emergencies, not in a time of relative peace.

State Employment is down 46,000
Local Government Employment is down 426,000
Federal Employment is UP 225,000

Oh ya, the jobs Obama is creating? Are mostly part-time employment. No benefits, over time pay, etc.
We just set a historic record for jobs created this past month of part time employment-so even the 69,000 jobs created, it took 200,000+ PART TIME jobs to get us into positive territory for the month of May.

God help us if Obama gets re-elected. I've noticed the first things the dictator's in other countries do when there is an uprising against the dictator and his gang...they shut down communication so the rioters can't talk and plan effectively (cell phones, internet, etc)and they limit availability to necessities (water, food, medical, etc)

Layoffs of public employees at the state, local, and the national level are a continuing drag on the economy. If the public sector employed as many workers today as it did on the eve of the financial collapse, 600,000 more people would be employed, and our unemployment rate would be about a percentage point lower.
Businesses, sitting on record profits as well as cash reserves will not create jobs when there are no customers in sight. The President has called for action on a jobs plan that would include measures to rebuild our infrastructure and put a devastated construction industry to work, aid to states and cities to rehire police and teachers, direct programs to hire veterans, and tax reforms that would reduce the incentives companies have to move jobs abroad.
Instead the Republican Congress insists on ever deeper cuts at the federal level, while reducing aid to the states. They have even obstructed passage of a transportation bill that has always had bipartisan support and is strongly needed. Layoffs of public employees add to the human toll the recession takes, while hurting the economy.
