The US Supreme Cout has already ruled that animated (or digitized) photos are child porn. This is not even a valid conviction and defies the rulings of higher courts.

<<CORRECTION>>

The US Supreme Court has already ruled that animiated (or digitized) photos are NOT child porn.

Sorry for the confusion.

By the way, there are some great pictures of underage girls in bikinis in KC Star's Sunday JC Penny ad. That actually is a girl undressed. WHat is that a good thing when this is so sinister?

The district does this to make a desired perception into a deluded reality. The will take any flimsy case and prosecute to fluff up the numbers....then claim KC is a "child porn hub". Other districts would not make such cases thier vangaurd.

These photos involved individuals faces that were not animated or digitized and I assure you, the charges included attemped distribution, not just production, thus his acceptance of a plea. Now the state will get him on their charges.

Don't get me wrong, the guy is sick and needs some treatment, but 20 years? I don't think this is a victimless crime, but when a convicted murderer can only expect to serve 12-19 years there is something wrong here. Source for my numbers: http://www.hoover.org/research/factsonpolicy/...

That's why 56% of convicted violet crime felons are repeat offenders according to the BJS.

Police are starting to blur the line between what's legal and what isn't. It is very odd to me that Hentai is still legal but photoshopped images of real people aren't.

"Now the state will get him on their charges"

What is the point? He isn't going to live 20 years another....especially in federal prison where there is no parole.

Bill, do you work for the US Attorneys office, FBI, etc.?

I think everyone agrees that what he did was not condoned, but 20 years? That is too much for a prison system already overloaded.

FALSE IMAGE = FALSE CHARGE = FALSE TRIAL = FALSE COURT. What happened to "the truth and nothing but the truth"? This was a rigged trial from the beginning, set up by a localized group of career minded Federal employees who are knowingly pushing "predator panic" & "child porn" beyond the boundaries of a matter that the United States Supreme Court has already ruled on - composite images. "So was it truly child porn? Defense attorneys wonder, but the FBI said definitely." The only thing definite "Joe" is that your responsible for collecting evidence, not defining it! This became invalid evidence the SECOND you realized that the child was not being victimized when the photo was taken. 20 years in prison for using photoshop - AT MY EXPENSE!! A street punk with a gun who murders an 8 year old wouldn't get a sentence that severe! Now I know of 2 U.S. Attorneys, at least 1 FBI agent, and 1 PARTIAL favoritism Judge - all of whom should resign! If you can't respect the decision of the United States Supreme Court you have no business pretending to enforce, prosecute, or preside over trails - every last one of you should resign you're unfit to serve! Project Safe Childhood - what a joke! Just like the resource wasting rookies you like to seat at desks so they can pretend to be children online - while the REAL children in America starve everyday! Who are the real criminals?

"Risk" doesn't prove anything - even when presented as an assesment. We should let Americans drive their cars? Because everytime an American operates a motor vehicle there is a statistical "risk" that they will kill. The common motorist in the U.S. commuting daily to and from work is more of a threat to children than this man - numerical fact.

Well my little cousin had pictures taken of her and other little girls. THe man tortured these little girls starting at the age of two months sticking needles up them just torture. THe man is still free and the police has seen his pictures. What is up with this. Not to mention my little cousin has cerebral palsey and cant speak up. THe pictures were found in his breif case. Supposedley he was just lusting for her. I think this man should be tortured to death. But he is still free.

Whether the pictures were photoshopped or not it is wrong to portray children in such away the individual is not to far from going beyond photo shopping so yes i believe he should hang for it. Now to get rid of the over crowded prisons all child predators should just be killed. WHen they get out of prison most of them harm another innocent child and this should not be allowed. Dont let these sick people out!

The courts got it right IMO. If you don't like it, go get a law degree and change things. That is, if you don't have a criminal record.

that is rediculous. no real harm done. that girl is going to have to live knowing this and it will haunt her for the rest of her life. Whether she gets over it or not. He is still a dirty perverted person. Imagine how that girl felt hearing this on the news and by the sounds of everything she would almost be a teenager, if not already. that is just sad and i think his wife is just as guilty for not doing anything about it!! If one more person could step up like that little girl he might get a longer sentence and that would be wonderful if someone else could have the courage she had. the kid was the one to step up. Sounds like pretty pitty adults to me. They should have been the ones to step up.

Well, then, kids with Marijuana jckets, better arrest them, they are promoting it, they probably smoke it. Guys who have ladies in g-strings on their bedroom wall, stripping is illegal in some states. Oh, I just made a 3.2 beer into 5.0 by adding more alcohol. If cops can act like a 13 yr old and be legal, what is the diffence the other way around? Besides what we think should be right, and that is the hypocrisy of the United States. The child i imaginge isn't going to see the pic, unless she visits the site. Now before I leave and stones get thrown, crimes against children are terrible, and not to go unnoticed, however, before we go and go hog wild, people look alike, look at some artist painting of people who paint by imagination and didn't have any particular subject in front of them, I am sure you can find someone looking similar to it. IS this country going to the point of being like the movie "Minority Report"? Thought Patrol.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Virgo

You're feeling restless and need to introduce as much variety into your day as possible. However, you'll want this to be on your own terms, and you certainly won't like it if plans are changed without your consent or you feel you've lost control of the situation. Try to take everything in your stride, otherwise you'll end up feeling exhausted and frazzled.
