I do not know if any of you pay ant attention to Yahoo Groups, but I have been for the last couple of months. I really like the survivalist groups. So much so that I started my own.

But this evening a member from another group I am on posted an advertisement for a new Air Rifle. Don't laugh, it is a serious competition weapon. I finally tracked down the price and it was listed for about $1,200. Good grief, I only paid about $45 for the old one I have and I use it for squirrel, rabbit and groundhog hunting.

Anyway, I called my group Survival Preparedness, but I am thinking about changing the name and the theme to relate more to the average working class individual or family. Maybe something along the lines of "Shoestring Survival", "Budget Survival" or some other such synonym to let people know that if TSHTF people can prepare for it without sacrificing an arm and both legs in the process.

There are a ton of free ideas out there, DIY projects, and economically priced items for sale that are just as good as the "I can buy that because I am rich!" ones.

If anyone would like to help, share ideas, or voice an opinion, I'm not that hard to find.
