It's not rocket science to figure out what's wrong with our economy. Big business with the help of republicans have broken the back of the unions who are responsible for an affluent middle class. An affluent middle class was able to spend lots of money to keep our consumer based economy going strong. Now that workers make a lot less and have no extra money to spend on non essentials, our economy is going down the toilet. What were big business and their supporting republicans thinking? Who's going to buy their junk now?

Anything new at Ravenna other than the mis-management of forcasting, overtime, and over all general health of the company?

I preach and I preach... Walmart started all this crap when Sam Walton died and the kids discovered they can double and triple their money by buying cheap crap from over seas in the third world countries. Sam wouldn't allow them to buy from outside American so when he died "Katy bar the door". "Now lower prices everyday " made by people who are taking our jobs.
So any of you who complain on this sight and can't figure out why we, the middle class, are gettng the shaft. Go to Walmart tonight and buy some cheap Chinese products.
As long as they vote to deregulate and allow imports of our products with out tarrifs we are screwed... In the long run the entire country suffer.

Im retired from Ravenna, what the hell is going on over there? You guys are working Sundays and Holidays?(Veterans day and possibly the day after Thankgiving) I dont understand the thinking of paying doubletime and doubletime and a half to compete with the foriegn market. What the hell is going on with management over there? My take is they are building stock for a long layoff. Things sure have changed over there. Im glad Im out.

Remember all, you do NOT have to work paid holidays. Do not let then scare you into working, or say you are being forced, it dont work that way, you have 12 paid holidays a year, If you choose to work as a volunteer thats one thing, but they cant force you. If they try you need to call Nela Park and they WILL put a stop to it.

Anyone know anyone outside of C&I? Healthcare? Medical? Energy?

Did thier SS&P change?

Makes you wonder why the stock options changed and why GE is not handling it anymore doesn't it.

Makes ya wonder why they cancelled the last spin.. so they could be more prepared to do it right?

Maybe because GE was cooking the books is why Fidelity Investments is going to keep the books honest ?

Sorry, I do not quite understand your math, you get paid straight time if you stay at home , working a holiday is no differant than working a Saturday. This rate must be for brain surgary.

#1--GE agreed to change the way the money is invested in stock etc as a result of a settlement of a class action suit against them and that is why Fidelity is going to manage the money.

#2--If you work outside your regular shift on a paid holiday you get paid at the rate of 2 and one half times or double time and a half.

Simple, you make straight time (in this case $30.00 an hour), or you can work the holiday and make time and one-half (combined at $75.00) plus still have your Saturday off. You could also work the Saturday and really rake in the overtime.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Scorpio

Let the past stay in the past for now. Even though you may have fond memories of intense experiences, the Virgo Moon sees to it that you have virtually no desire to go there again just yet. This is your opportunity to show others what you can do in a more civilised environment. Don't try to shout down someone who is rude enough to interrupt. As unlikely as it may seem, the softest voice has the biggest chance of being heard today.
