While Gilroy did not receive a "Bicycle-Friendly City" designation this year from the Washington D.C.-based League of American Bicyclists , feedback on the application will be a useful tool in guiding the city's approach to cycling infrastructure, said Don Dey, City Transportation Engineer.

Gilroy is very bike friendly. We visit from UK to stay with our US citizen son and enjoy hassle free cycling which we could not have at home. We congratulate the Gilroy drivers for their patience and courtesy. The track along the levee is pure delight to us. Would be better still if it could be extended out to Hecker Pass.M& K
