Let's start talking about SB2 for the school and maybe this time it will pass. People are intimidated to speak out at school district meeting. If you have a child in school, you are afraid to say anything as you don't want retaliation. It won't be long before we can't afford to live in this town so our kid won't be in the school anyway. But, enough is enough and we need to start chipping away at the school budget. I think SB2 is the way to go. What do the rest of you think?

Yes, there is a petition. Did you guys know the School District had a $521,000 surplus last year? Time to reign them in, don't you think?

Maybe people need to pay more attention as to why there is a surplus and see that it's because there are people working to save money and get grants so they can give money back. You really have no clue as to how things are run. Try going to the meetings and educate yourselves more. You know what they say when you ASSUME anything... And not for nothing.....any moron can become a member of a school committee as long as they have friends. Sad!!!!

Im wondering if once the oath is taken if you will be more professional or if the personal attacks will still continue. Seems to me that if you become a school board member you should have some interest in the education of the children and not just the taxes. Everyone would like to have cheaper taxes of course but does that mean the school will be suffering again? No I am not sore but this should be interesting and if you can become a member of the board with 41 votes then anyone can. Are you going to be able to do the job with the kids best interest in mind or will you just cause alot of drama like you do on this page? Again,.should be interesting....

rumor has it that it seems Cindy achieved what she wanted last time around with her child attending private school on Gilmanton's tax dollars when Gilford could have provided her with an education just as easily!

I would like to thank those Gilmanton Voters that supported SB2 and also those that wrote me in for School Board this year. I accepted the position yesterday and am looking forward to serving those in the community who have confidence that I can represent them in this position.

This was a record turn out for Gilmanton for a local election and it really is good to see community members engaging in the process. As all of you well know hitting the 60% passage for SB2 is a major challenge in itself and I think that it speaks volumes to both our town and our school that we must address our current tax situation.

There are those who are already voicing concerns about whether I can serve effectively. Only through my service will that be apparent, but I can assure you that I will perform these duties with a respect for everyones opinions and I will also work to establish the balance that I believe is needed for those working to educate our children and those paying for it.

Just to address "rumors" about my last service on the School Board. Yes, it is a fact that I had a child that attended private school that was paid for by the Gilmanton School District. There are many details about why this happened which would be too lengthy to address in a letter to a newspaper, but I would like to clarify a few facts about this. This was approved by the entire school board and the administration at the time, during the time that I was not on the board.

Some of those who take great joy in spreading discontent about the issue were in fact on the board at the time and approved this action. Just as it was then, it seems as though some believe that it is ok to pit a personal situation involving a child into a political situation, but that is what the world is like today unfortunately. This time around should be a lot different as the dynamic of having a child leveraged against me for my actions is not at play. This alone will provide a huge amount of peace and ability to serve as effectively as possible.

If there are community members that would rather have detail instead of gossip, I am open to discussing this with you to help resolve concerns. However, this was a family matter and should be left as just that. It has no bearing on my future service to the Gilmanton School District. It is just a piece of history that would be better addressed in a second edition of Peyton Place.

I am grateful to those that continue to support me and am looking forward to serving as your elected School Board Member.

Maybe the unnamed "voter" who is too chicken-crap to identify herself should have run for the damn position instead of finding a way to be so negative, gossip queen..........

All I have to say ,is that if my sons education is reduced in any way because of this bogus sb2,there will be a lawsuit following.because we all know that the cuts will be to programs and not to the admin, where the budget really needs to be cut,but you ignorant selfish wastes of human life didn't think of that did you?
