Why any gay people would even want to be Catholic in the first place is beyond me. Why be part of a religion that hates you?

I truly feel for these woman, I myself had to make the choice between my Catholicism and alternative lifestyle. It was hard initially to understand the Churches position.
The Catholic organization, "Courage" was instrumental in helping me make the choice I made. I am very happy now, wishing there was a means to help others who are struggling with this dilemma. It can be so rewarding, once understanding the intricacies.

I was born into the Catholic faith and taught to hate sin, not the sinner.

Living a "straight lifestyle" to belong to a church doesn't sound healthy or fulfilling to me, but it is everyone's right, if they choose.

For myself, I choose to live my life as I was made. To love and honor my partner, who I believe was sent to me by God, and raise my two kids to be the best people they can be.

But I do sometimes miss the church of my childhood.

No church claiming to be Christian can accept what the bible repeated denounces.

Nothing new here, it has been and will continue to be the gay agenda, and that is to destroy Christianity and to discredit the teachings of the Bible. I just cannot believe how such a small minority can cause so much social turmoil. I will never tell my children that its OK, nor will I join any organization that promotes that lifestyle, even if one of my children should declare there homosexuality (God forbid).

How does any church that claims to be biblical condone homosexual acts, which are repeatedly, emphatically, explicitly, and irrefutably condemned in the bible?

Actually, the article does a pretty good job of explaining the reasons. Public sin, or sin made public.
The Eucharist is not "just communion." It is the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Our Lord Jesus Christ. All communicants are to be in the proper state of Grace when receiving this most Blessed Sacrament.
When a persons sin is made public, it is no longer just their sin that the Church has to be concerned with, but the public scandal, the effect that the sin will have on the faithful.
Once a sin of gravity is made public, it needs to be reconcilled publically.

I feel sorry for them also, and I'm straight (but for gay rights). God made homosexuals the way they are, so they can't be "wrong".

Here's a thought: instead of embracing any religion because you were "born into it", how about deciding for yourself what to believe, what to embrace, and what to discard as useless? It sounds as if you were indoctrinated from a very early age (birth?!) and never had a chance to think for yourself. Is that true?

The bible doesn't denounce lesbianism. Go ahead and try to find otherwise.

I am not of the Roman Catholic faith. I do though agree with the Church on this issue. This is clearly a sin according to the beliefs of the Roman Catholic faith. To openly present your "sin" and stand on it to be "ok" is contray to the beliefs of the Church you wish to worship within. The Roman Catholic faith or any other faith must stand upon their principles or just become politically correct to appease the persons who want to sin and mean nothing.

Most Christian churches allow women to speak, and I believe most allow divorced and remarried people to attend.

I believe the bible denounced things like that.

What did they do to you? They are people like anyone else, deserving the same rights & privileges than anyone else, why are they less 'OK' than you are? The book you seem to follow so dearly says ALOT, and awful LoT of things, and not all of it should be even thought as something to be followed, use your judgement and stop condemning a lifestyle that has done nothing to you just because 'my god said so', it's just rubbish as a reason to hate. There's no reason to hate anyway.

Not willing to teach your children to accept people with different lifestyles? Okay, let them be as close-minded as the people who persecute other people for rubbish reasons such as yours, let them be part of that - oh so moronic - school of thought telling that alternate lifestyles like homosexuality aren't OK, but hopefully with time they'll wake up, realize that altho some principles of the bible are good, a great part of it applied TO THE TIME IT WAS WRITTEN, and that time, societies & people change, so does their values, hereby those principles applying to the - oh so far back - time it was written in, don't apply anymore and should be reviewed.

I mean, why teaching the new generations to discriminate? Life is too short for hate, discrimination and all that stuff, why can't everyone get along with each other?

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Gemini

You're in a very erratic mood today, making you restless, edgy and nervy. It may be almost impossible to settle to anything for long, because, as Mercury slows, you soon lose interest. If life becomes boring you'll want to liven it up in some way and it's likely you'll choose the most disruptive and controversial option you can think of, even though you know this will cause trouble.
