You have got to be kidding me. I went to the ER three weeks ago, and was absolutely disgusted at the poor ER system they had set up. I got there at 3:30 on a Thursday afternoon, and spent 8 hours waiting in a bed for treatment. I wasn't even as sick as others who really needed the bed. There was a series of miscommunications, results that had been delivered but not read, people not knowing I was there. then one doctor came in and delivered a prognosis that said I'd be fine, and later another doctor came in and told me I had a serious growth. I left not sure what to believe. All in all, I could have died while Gilbert Mercy was trying to figure out how to run an ER.

There is a difference. You went to Gilbert Mercy Medical Center. The 31 minute Door to Doc is at Gilbert Hospital. Two different places. Mercy is a CHW hospital while Gilbert Hospital is privately held. There is not a single hospital in the Valley that meets the times and quality that Gilbert Hospital (not Mercy)provides. Next time, drive over to Power Rd. just south of Ray and see the folks at Gilbert Hospital...you'll be glad you did.

if you were there for EIGHT hours.........you weren't in any way shape or form going to DIE. You probably didn't even have an EMERGENCY.(read heart attack, can't breath-turning blue, arm/leg cut off, etc.)
GO to your nearest URGENT CARE. quit clogging up our ER's and then complaining about the wait.
give me a break.

I took my 5 year old daughter to this hospital with a suspected broken arm. She was seen by a member off the nursing staff right away, however we not seen by a DR for over 4 hours!!!!! She need staples in her head and pain meds for her broken arm. We did not get any pain meds until after we saw the DR. I was told that they were short staffed that day and that this was not the norm. I will never go back

I've had 3 visits to the Gilbert ER in the last 3 years. First was for my son, who needed 16 stitches in his calf for a bike vs. parked car collision. We were there a grand total of 45 minutes, start to finish. The entire staff was excellent.

I've had to go there, myself, for 2 life-threatening PE's (pulmonary emboli--blood clots in my lungs), one year apart. Again, the staff was excellent from the moment I walked in the door. The first time I was there a total of 2-1/2 hours, some of which was just spent waiting to clear my admission to a another full-care hospital. The second visit this summer was faster, simply because we all knew what was happening. I'm a retired medical assistant, so I also speak "the language." I also know very well what to look for in terms of efficiency and quality of care. This hospital has it all, abundantly. I have, and will continue, to trust my life to them.

My husband is also retried medical personnel. We both feel that this is the BEST ER we've ever seen in action.

My wife went to Chandler Regional Hospital for pain in her lower right quadrant. She spent close to ten hours in the er for the doctors to do blood test, CT's, and ultra sounds, some done twice. She was discharged and told to come back the next day if she still had the pain. The next day she came back with the same pain the test were run again, this time she spent about eight hours, this time discharged with no prognosis. What is wrong with these docs? She now has a fever of 101 and feels bad. You really think she feels like going to the ER..Hell no. She won't be going to Chandler Regional....What a joke they are.

There is definitely a difference between Gilbert ER Hospital and Mercy or the other Gilbert ER. Those last two are terrible, with endless wait times.

But the amazing Gilbert Hospital ER is the best ER in the Valley. That is the ER with the "Door to Doc in 31 minutes" policy. So everyone is clear, Gilbert Hospital: door to doc in 31 minutes is the following:

Gilbert Hospital
5656 South Power Rd.
Gilbert, AZ 85295
four eight oh - nine eight four - two zero zero zero (it won't let me type the number ;)

If you don't believe me, call before you head to the ER and ask what their current wait time is.
In my experience, Gilbert Hospital is by far the best ER in the Valley. I had a long-term illness that lasted five years and three surgeries. My illness was the kind that would make me very, very ill - and I would get dehydrated and/or in pain to the point of fainting on a number of occasions. So, I have had the misfortune of landing in the ER a number of times and I've been to almost every ER in the Valley over the years. Every time I have ever been to Gilbert Hospital, the wait was short (if there was a wait at all); I never waited longer than 30 minutes to get a bed, and was always seen by a doctor shortly thereafter. They treated me the same when I was on AHCCCS as when I got "cadilac" private insurance.
I have been to (and heard about) ERs that treat people like pill-seeking addicts if there isn't a broken bone or dire diagnosis. Not so at Gilbert Hospital. Every single time I have been to Gilbert Hospital, I have been treated with respect by people who appear genuinely concerned about my well-being. Now, it is the only ER I will go to, so long as my body can tolerate the 1 hour drive from my home. Well-worth the miles. Although I have been blessed with not needing to go in almost a year, I was there recently when my mother, who suffers from bipolar disorder, stopped taking her meds and went into a manic episode. Despite the matter being a self-inflicted mental health problem - my mother was treated with kindness, patience, and genuine concern. When my son needed stiches - that's where we took him.
I would recomend Gilbert Hospital to anyone in need of emergency medical care.

My best hospital experiences have been with Mercy Gilbert Hospital. I've been to ER on two occasions and received immediate care. I don't expect to enter a filled waiting room and be served before someone who was there before I arrived.

The care I received was appropriate for my condition and, the cath lab is super.

I've also been treated at Chandler Regional, Arizona Heart, St. Joseph's, and Mountain Vista. All of these receive a quality ranking in my opinion. Some are better than others but, all are good.

The food at Chandler Regional is the best of those in which I've been admitted.

i would just like to say that i went to gilbert hospital (the one on power) not by choice but because ems had to take me there as i was having chest pain with known cardiac history. all i can say is that it was the worst experience of my life. they got me right in to a room but the wait was just as long as if i had gone to another facility. they almost took out my gallbladder for no reason the only thing that saved me from surgery was that i had eaten breakfast. the girl who drew my blood was clueless and then they for some reason did a pregnancy test on me and came back and told me that they had to draw blood because they could not tell if i was pregnant from the urine test. everything was a mess. if i was on my death bed i would not go back into that hospital. i find that the people at banner baywood are much more accomodating even with the wait. that will be my hospital of choice!
