Those big F-series trucks, Durangos, Hummers, Expeditions and the like, suck. I mean it. The rate at which they consume gas should be against the law. Their demand for gas drives the supply.

October is just around the corner. The Harley groups are just itchin' to get here. Those that choose to come will be driving those big gas-sucking rigs and further straining its' gas mileage by pulling the huge trailers behind them.

Funny though, they're considered 'bikers' and they haul their bikes everywhere. They're 'suckers'. Yea, that's what we'll hear in October. No banging and blowing, just the sucking.....hahahahahahahaHAAH AHA
Here the laughter here:

Who it does affect is the average joe that goes to work every day and must decide between food, job or to go on vacation somewhere. Guess mbs tourisem rates will be falling more. Less income and noise for the area.

This is problem seems to be result of george bushism. When Bill Clinton was in office our gas prices was stable and when the GREEDY OIL business tried to rise prices he curbed it by putting reserve oil into the system. Since bush is an oil man he refuses to curb such greedy acts. Nice going georgie boy and your republican buddies. GREEDY IS THWE CAUSE!

I do admit the hiked prices of gas, which was fueled by panic, will have serious adverse reactions to the seasonally employed residents who have just been laid-off, or will be laid-off very shortly. It will be hard to look for work while rationing the gas in the fuel tank.

The holidays will be upon us soon and there will be some openings for those stores that take on additional employees to assist the holiday shoppers.

I personally don't think that the holiday season will be good. People just don't have as much disposable income as years past. The near future is uncertain and people will demand lower prices to shop frugally. Just after Halloween, I look for holiday sales to start from stores wanting to capture the early shopping dollars. People will begin shopping earlier to spread their money out.

My sister-in-law is finished with her holiday shopping already. She's just waiting for the wrapping paper, ribbons and bows to arrive at Dollar General. Her tree, lights and decorations are those that she purchased on clearance, in years past.

I hope things will get better. Tourism is needed here, but I don't think we should sacrifice our homes and communities to those tourists that give our town a black eye.

These gas stations must be receiving new gas shipments daily to keep passing the increases to us daily??---Or are they just raising pricing on their existing gas in their storage tanks???? PEOPLE LETS THIS STRAIGHT----I will be coming down soon to put gas in my 400hp Checkmate and don't want to pay gouging prices, as the tank holds 30 gallons. Here in NY, I would have to mortage my home to fill the tank. HAVE A GOOD TIME WITH THIS ONE!!!

I saw where one BP station actually lowered their price by 4 cents today. It was 3.89/gal for reg yeaterday and today it is 3.85/gal.

The panicked and fearful population fled to the gas stations all at once and created a uncalled for high demand for fuel. This has sent fuel prices upward. It will settle back down.

Somewhere in these forums there is a link to gas prices that you can check by entering in the city or zip code.

We have a lot of Yankee snowbirds here in the winter. It is cheaper for them to rent a place here and enjoy our temperate climate, rather than pay the heating fuel costs back home. They begin arriving right around the New Year and will return to the north right about Easter.

Come on down.

It's legal robbery. The Congress could not get answers from the big oil company executives at hearings in Washington and now various State Attorney Generals issued subpeonas trying to get answers. Demand has been decreasingh over the past year and supply is here. Just think, nexter quarter the big oil barons will be reporting another 40 BILLION DOLLARS PROFIT thanks to the motoring American public.
