Coleman Powermate Faces Potential Lawsuit

DO NOT BUY ANY REMAINING "ON SALE' PRODUCTS.
I purchased a "Husky Home Depot" air compressor on Dec 31. Didnt open it until April passed the 90 day return policy. It was DOA out of the box and you are to contact Coleman (they made it) for the 3 year warranty which no longer exists. I'm SOL. And Home Depot doesnt want to hear it either.
Many stores are still selling their crap, know who the Mfgr is b4 you buy.

You can still contact coleman's. The only plant that closed is the Kearney, NE one.

Been there done that, and NO I could not contact "Powermate Products" I did manage to contact the company (Sanborn Compressors) who bought the NFG plant. They stated " we bougth the factory but are not honoring Coleman warranties.

Well, I hope someone contacts me when the lawsuits start. I bought one for a veternary practice in December and it went bad in February. I had to get them up and running on the same day so I just bought another Husky. When that one died this month I went to a different brand but now I have two pieces of garbage. Don't think that Home Depot is innocent in this though, they must have been aware of the condition of the company and are undoubtedly holding on to their money.

bought a coleman home generator last year at home depot to replace one that was 20 years old. new one burnt up in 3 hours and now I can't even find parts for it. no one even wants to try to repair it. I am left with a $700.00 boat anchor. I AM BEYOND PISSED. GEE I HOPE THE CEO GOT A GOLDEN PARACHUTE.

I purchased air compressor oilless @ costco 300.00, After warranty just ran out It quit I was lucky! to contact them L.O.L.(To fix problem fan blade came off) I had to purchase new motor 100.00. then after 90 day warranty runs out something else went wrong where theres no inlet or outlet pressure. Now you cant even let them know your thoughts that i wont mention here. So i guess i really got screwed.

I purchased a Huske air compressor June 1, 2008 and it had ran approx. 1 hr. maybe so I called the 800 # and go nobody for 3 days. Then some guy answered and said it was sold to Sanborn. He told me I could get parts if I wanted to work on it but I decided to take it back to Home Depot. Well, I got the run around there and I didn't know powermate went bankrupt. Finally I got rather pissed and said I wanted to talk to the Manager. So I did and he was nice about it and wanted to replace it a new one but they didn't have one so he credited my account. I think I will go by a Campbell H. or Ingersoll now.

There is a number you can call to get replacement parts for your Coleman Air Compressor and Service questions. 1-888-895-4549 Have your Model# and Serial#. I just called and they are sending out the part I need. All I did was explain want was happening with my compressor.

people who buy junk from hardware stores to run a business deserve what they get.[you get what you pay for!!!] i run a compressor shop but i don't sell junk. so try spending a lil more $ and get a better product to begin with.

futher more costco never has sold 1 descent designed compressor. it's all crap designed to be used once a month at best! and if you get two months from it ur lucky

The unit is called a COLEMAN POWERMATE! Wouldn't you think good old Coleman would have something to do with the powermate generator? Not according to Coleman. I thought Coleman was a quality brand name therefore I purchased the powermate. NEVER AGAIN! If it says Coleman it's junk as far as I'm concerned. What a crock.

I have a COLEMAN POWERMATE 14 IN 1 power tool kit, model # PMD 8134. Both battery packs were never very good, wouldn’t hold a charge. Now both are corroded and completely dead…only used the drill a few times, never got a chance to use the other stuff (saw, sander, flashlight). The charging base is defective and the 18 volt transformer only puts out about 3 volts.( It did come with a very nice molded carrying case to hold all the junk)
Coleman won’t do anything about it, said to try to get replacement batteries “online”(been trying, no luck) and disavows any connection with the now defunct “TEAM PRODUCTS INTERNATIONAL, INC.”, the manufacturer of the product. WHAT DO I DO???

My wife bought me a husky when we bought our house five years ago. Stand up 5.5 Hp 27 gal unit on wheels. First one I ever user. It has helped me rebuild my house in three years, room by room. Sits in the garage and I use it year round. Has never failed once. On the way home from work a few days ago, there was a sign on a lawn saying FREE STUFF and a ColemanPowermate 5 HP 20Gal unit was there. I talked to him and he said take it, the motor works but there is a problem with the thingy. I brought it home. Added a few quick disconnects, cleaned out the regulator and the manifold. Works perfect. Now I have a nice little one for the basement and the old reliable one in the garage. I do need a few parts so thanks for the phone number.

I too bought a Husky 27 gallon stand up from Home Depot. After 1 year of the 3 year warranty, the motor was running hot and spitting fire.I hauled it back to the store where i was charged $35.00 just to look at it.This just pissed me off that you have a "warranty" that H.D., or Coleman will not Honar. The store manager called the police to get me out of the store.They sent it out for repair,but i made them give me a "loaner'.It got back with a letter that said "motor dirty from paint over spray". I called the repair service and asked why do they sale spray guns with them. I was told is may void my warr.I have worked in the body shop ind. for 15 years , so i know how to vent compressors .Well it has stop sgain this week, now 18 months into the warr.,i pulled the top off guess what ,they do not put no filters on the intake side.All dust is pulled into the motor by the fan for cooling. I guess i am on way back to H.D. for round 2 with me,store manager, and Hickory NC police.I will up date this later

Ok i went H.D. today 12-5 -08, manager said" too bad, too sad". I was told that you can not run compressor with the tools that come with it.This was at the Gastiona NC H.D.store.
